Yeah it's getting hot and I'm broke AF. So the truck ain't going anywhere anytime soon unfortunately

 

No dyno. But I'd like do one some time. Trucks been having some major maintenance items (wheel bearings) that needed attention

They did the graph in MPH since they didn't have a way for spark reference for cylinder 1. If it helps, the torque split (point where HP and TQ diverge) on a dyno is always at 5252RPM.

A lot of different companies offer their version of the VF Tuner that they can flash into your ECU. Storm Peacock and Yota Works were two different companies I reached out to for custom tune.

In the end I chose to get the VF Tuner directly from the source so that I can make my own maps. With the amount and variety of mods I want to explore Storm Peacock and Yota Works couldn't offer a custom tune for every step of the way.

Gears, cams, supercharger, high PSI supercharger, then E85. Those mentioned companies can help with some, but not the entirety of what I needed.

I'm still waiting on my VF Tuner, almost 4 weeks later. I ordered the day before they released their Gen 4 support so they are back ordered due to everyone (consumers and tuners) ordering theirs for the newer models.

Hand to heart I will post a dyno of the 'as delivered' 2UZFE VVTI 93 octane tune from VF. It may be different from the Yota Works results because they make their own version of the tune.

If the tune and bolt ons require 91-93 octane I would likely pass.

sure does. the Tech said he was basically aiming for a peak number on the 3rd run. I'm going to do a last run with my original tuner and a new calibration on the URD MAF calibrator early next year.

 

Got my hidden snorkel finished up this weekend. I saw a video on youtube about a guy who built his snorkel and ran it into the chamber between his fender and engine bay. I tried that route so we'll see how that works out. So far so good and kept me from having to cut a hole into my engine bay.

Thanks guys for the tips, the 3" PVC that I believe @Voss recommended fit perfectly!

I also cut the tip of my snorkel to help maximize the opening for air to enter the snorkel. I drove it for a bit and seems to work just fine, didnt change any sound either that I could hear.

Yea im kinda wondering about that too. However another guy built a similar one with good results and also, theres a lot of fresh air rushing from the front of the fender into that chamber so maybe it will suffice?

That is my one concern with this setup as well though. Appreciate any feedback!

 

Doubt it will have any dramatic effect on how the engines runs. It will definitely have a dramatic effect on whether it ingests water or not, so mission accomplished. We used to flip the air cleaner lids on our old carbureted cars to hear all that rushing air power! That made them hot air intakes too and they ran fine.
