Serpentine belt swap at 93k

Sadly, I began to install the new one, I noticed a 2nd belt!
Gotta order that & circle back to this as It seems you need to remove the front most belt to do the 2nd belt
So I will need to remove what I did today & reinstall after I get to the back one!!!
Took about 15 mins to do
Remove the skid plate for easier accessibility
the tensioner pulley is on the top right side if you are facing the motor from the front (most easily accessible from the top)
I have not confirmed the tensioner for the 2nd belt, but i believe its only accesible from below (im going test the lower pulley i found as soon as i post this)
Note- it's some tight clearances on these belts, heads up if you are doing it

 

93k ... a lot of miles already, going for the 1st million mile 3rd gen ?

 

Op have you done spark plugs twice already?

It's supposedly every 40k?

 

I skipped the 40k & did the 1st swap at 80k

I just had my serpentine belt changed at 91,000 miles. My truck was at the dealership getting brakes and rotors done and they called and said the belt was showing some wear. Didn't want to take a chance so I had it replaced. I figured it would give me peace of mind after paying it off and am going to have to keep performing some general maintenance so it lasts.

 

How much to change it?
Looks like you got a gen 2.5....is it one belt?
As I changed mine gen3 belt a few weeks ago, I discovered the gen3 motor has two belt (they are identical)
Damn it!

I bought a second one recently & plan to change the 2nd one when I do the 100k oil change

The belt was $35 (got mine atkfalls toyota in southern oregon, fyi)

Can't wait to post the odor with 100k miles
At 96k atm
I'm thinking at some point in June I'll cross 100k

 

I don't think I can sit in the same seat for 1 million miles, but let's see where the tundra & life take me....who knows, maybe I'll do it?
I put 400k on a 2013 tacoma over nine years so perhaps I'll keep the tundra for 20 yrs & try for a million miles

not sure how much it cost; with new OEM rotors (I have been burned too many times on the “turned” rotors and it’s decide to replace them when the time comes), new OEM pads, the serpentine belt replacement and an oil change, the total was $1050. I probably could have done it all myself but we are leaving for a camping trip next week and I wanted peace of mind and didn’t want to rush myself.
