I had this same issue with powerstop. They only lasted a little over a year or about 15k miles before I had horrible wobbling even when I wasn’t hitting the brakes.
I went with stoptech slotted and ebc yellowstuff pads. I only have about 1k miles on them now, but so far they are really good.

My experience is the Callipers fail, get sticky and the back sides of stock rotors heat crack like crazy. This creates uneven braking, noise and a feeling of luck ya stopped !

So fasten a dial indicator and rotate them and see if they run out thousand'ths of an inch.

If the rotors are warped they will move more then the shimmed amount when they get hot. It will be better, but you might want to account for this and put in some more shims.

I would buy some shim-in-a-can, yes it is called that, and use some good scissors to cut out small pieces that can be held in place with a little bit of grease. Just a dab so that it doesn’t affect the brake surface.

Yup, that’s how you do it. I never thought .005 of an inch was much (and probably would have laughed at someone 10 years ago if they said it’d make a difference), but after getting a mill and a lathe, 5 thou is a noticeable cut when you run your finger over it. I can start to imagine now how a difference like that would negatively impact a braking system

You can feel .0002” on face milled aluminum sub plate. Our senses are quiet amazing.

When I got my '15 with 98k miles on it, it had hard brake shudder at around 50mph.
I have no idea how old or new any part of the braking system was, or whether it was OEM or not.
At the recommendation of my uncle who is a Toyota Master Mechanic, I got Rabestos rotors and pads (980583R 980584R MGD1303CH MGD1304CH), non slotted, non drilled, from Rock Auto for what I thought was a fantastic price, even with $50 in shipping. (I had no idea 4 rotors could be so heavy!!) He uses the same set on his 2010 Tundra.
That took care of the shuddering. Granted it's only been about 3-4k miles, so only time will tell I guess.
It drives incredibly smooth on the highway, even at speeds I won't mention.

Needless to say I love driving my truck.

Anyone recommend a good site to buy the StopTech cryo slotted? Thanks!

Ok thanks. How many miles do you have on them? I decided against powerstop because I heard about the warping.

I’ve run their dimpled and slotted and dimpled rotors on everything from sports cars to HD trucks and have never had a rotor warp. Also US made.

Their prices seem decent. $504 for cross/slotted or just slotted with ceramic pads. Almost too good to be true. So the pads come with any replacement hardware?

Haven’t bought them for a tundra (yet) but the other ones came with the pad shims or clips.

I bought my 07 brand new and struggled for a good 5 years with rotors warping easily. Even when I was super careful it would still happen.
Interesting to note that this stopped happening when I switched to another dealership for service.
Even more interesting to note is that I too had heard about over tightened lug nuts contributing to the problem (mentioned by @glowblue ). I had to change a flat on the side of the road one day- the lug nuts were on so tight, that I actually bent my lug wrench taking them off. That experience is what made me change dealerships.
I never had warped rotors again after that. In my case, it was mostly due to bad installation practices. I’ll admit that for the first 30K miles I drove that 5.7 like a maniac, but quickly changed my tune because of rotors constantly warping.

How did driving it like a maniac cause your rotors to warp? Because you had to brake more aggressively?

I didn’t realize there were like 6 flavors of stop tech rotors for the tundra. In my ignorance I ordered the “sport slotted rotor” version and not the cryo. I’m not in a hurry to do the brakes. Am I best to return and find the cryo or just run these?

Tire rack or rca garage. I tell ya. I have been watching the delivery date slip and slip on stopTech slotted cryo rotors. I have the front left and rear right in my garage and have been trying to get the other 2 for 6 months. If you are in a hurry you may look at a different brand. Not sure what the hell is going on with them and manufacturing.

Thanks for the info! Sold out on tire rack. Summit racing seems to be the only spot.

If they are in stock please let me know. My guess is they will promptly go to back order when you place an order. At least that is what I have seen other places do. Hope I am wrong for your sake!
