This is how I do it. I just save it all for the weekends. Usually have around 30-36 between Friday and Saturday. I don't drink if I work the next day, and if I work a weekend I just don't drink that weekend.

Do I have a problem? Probably. Eh, it is what it is. I enjoy my beer and video games.

Why are you still fucking around with that rust bucket? I thought you decided a few pages back to get a newer 5.7. And before y'all give me shit about bringing the 5.7 up, I have seen picks of @Jack McCarthy 's frame. It would be a bonus for public safety in his area.

Yeah just do a frame swap Jesus. It's not that involved. Just uninstall everything and then reinstall it all on the new frame lol

Maybe we both shifted/knocked something loose when hammering out the stud(s), and that created new metal-on-metal contact? Weird indeed.

I keep encouraging him to just buy a truck from the better parts of the country. I've even posted a few in immaculate shape with superchargers.

So what’s the take on this situation- I’ve had a persistent PO420 code off and on for a few years, at first I could clear it and it wouldn’t come back for months, now it pretty much comes back immediately (after a few on off cycles).
The other day I was a little under 1/4 tank and I dumped a whole can of Seafoam in the tank and the check light went out immediately and stayed out until I filled the tank later the same day, came back a few minutes after filling. Does that seem to indicate my cats are probably alright and I need new O2 sensors, or am I thinking about this all wrong?
I’ve thought about just doing all new sensors since I don’t think they’ve ever been done (365,000km) but don’t want to just throw parts at it.

Sensors were fun and well worth doing. Rear ones are super easy. I have the part numbers in my build thread.

Man I been fighting p0420/p0430 since I bought this 03 about 20k miles ago. No telling how long the PO lived with the CEL. So I changed the O2 sensors, all 4. That didn't make the light stay off more than a week or two. So I changed the cats. Again maybe a week and the light came back on. I got the cats replaced under warranty, light came back on a week after I got it inspected (passed). I want to be clear the cats I got are some no name cats from my local muffler shop. I suspect they are high flow because the exhaust smells rich. Not sure if the smell is related to the CEL or the cheap cats. But the truck also has long tube headers. So next I tried o2 spacers. That worked for a week or two. Then CEL came back on. Now it comes back on maybe half a tank after I turn the CEL off.
I hope the truck just needs a tune. I think the headers are making it run rich and the cheap cats must not be cleaning the exhaust enough. I think they're high flow cats. Too bad so far my particular 03 ECU isn't able to be tuned. I'd have to either buy a tuned ECU and swap it or send in mine to OV/VF Tune.

Funny thing is my 06 has the same headers and cats and new o2 sensors and it's been perfectly fine for years. I even got it tuned recently and no CEL.

I’ll probably just order all 4 then soon, likely from Rockauto, Denso.
The truck is stock, I did the plugs not that many miles ago but maybe I’ll just do those too.
The exhaust is a Walker OE style replacement from a few years ago, from the cats back, still solid.
May as well do the air filter too.

The tune is great. It fixed where the power felt like it would just fall off between shifts at WOT. The truck will pull you into your seat off the line. It improved the sounds of the exhaust at WOT even.

Unfortunately I haven't driven it much since the tune, because that same weekend I roasted my bearings in a mud hole and the truck is currently on jackstands waiting for her spindles to come home.

Okay, my search skills are sucking right now- what’s the recommended spark plug? I don’t even recall what I used last time, I believe it was a single electrode copper per the manual.

NGK copper single electrode is fine for an 03 v8. Dual electrode if v6.
    NGK platinum if you fancy.

Manual is correct. NGK or Denso; can't go wrong with either one.

In your build you use the same part number for both downstream, Rockauto is showing different ones for either side (with 4wd)..? I’m guessing it’s maybe just a difference in wire length?
