Anyone run the STT Pro in 295 70 18 with little to no modifications? I've read others have fit 295 70 18 in other tires without issue, but supposedly the STT Pro runs a little bigger.

If you have this size tire in the STT Pro, how much did your performance and mileage drop? They're pretty heavy at around 69 lbs each. I'd be coming up from a 55 lb KO2 in 275 65 18.

I currently have 5100s at second setting, and I'm planning on getting 6112's at second to last setting. Have an aftermarket bumper that gives a little extra room in front of the tire with the fender lining and mud flap removed. Thanks.

My STTs run at 34.5". My Maxxs' which are also 295/70/18 run at 34". No CMC is needed with the STTs'. You do have to move the front fender skirt foward and lose the mud flap. The Coopers are heavier. For good reason. Better made. Quality belts. AmorTek sidewalls for one. My favorite brand now so I'm totally biased. The STTs' were better in snow than my Nitto Trail Grapplers were. Better all around actually. I expect the Maxxs' to perform better in the snow.. The STTs' are a great M/T and the Maxxs' are a great hybrid A/T.

I was a little worried about rubbing on the UCA...but sounds like I should be OK. Did you notice any significant drop in mpg or feel sluggish when you went up to that size?

Yea, I've heard only good about the STT Pro. A friend of mine runs them in 275 65 18. They look awesome.

My Tundra had Nitto TG M/T 275/70/18's on it when I bought it. My gas mileage average was a little over 11. My STTs' average dropped to 10.2. I've been running with my new MAXXs' for about a month now and my average is back up to 11.2. I go up to the mountains almost every weekend to my average is low. I averaged over 15 mpg on the highway with my STTs'. I expect my MAXXs' to better on the highway mpgs..Going down to my property in a couple weeks. Should find out then. Lots of highway getting there.

Not all 295/70/18 tires are same.

STT Pro is widest among 295/70/18 (12 inches wide) tires and Nitto Trail Grappler is the tallest (34.57 inches). Both Nitto Trail Grappler and Toyo OC MT are More than 5 lb heavier than STT Pro.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of these tires (assuming that you like aggressive tires).

edit: FYI, spec for 295/70/18 is 34.3" in diameter and 11.6" in width.

You're going to get really close to your UCA's on stock wheels if you don't hit it. I got the same tires but also added a lift and Method wheels at the same time so not sure how much the tires contributed but I went from 15.5mpg to about 13.5mpg, via computer. I'm too lazy to hand calculate and I just don't care. I felt about 10-15% dropoff on acceleration on the Butt Dyno but you get used to it after about a month and barely even notice it anymore.

Yeah, My STTs' are wider than my MAXXs'. All those tires mentioned can be a real pain in the back when changing tires. Can't imagine changing a 37"er. No shortage of decent tires to choose from for sure.

LED conversions, spray in liner, tonneau cover, color matched handles, 3/2 level, 2" spacers, 295/70r18 cooper st maxx on stock wheels.
I run the 295/70r18 st maxx's, just installed this weekend. I have 3/2 leveling kit and a 2" spacer. There is rub at full turn either direction on the front fender, but didnt have to do the Body Mount Chop. Supposedly you can heat up the plastic in the front and move it forward but i have yet to see it done. I will add some pics today.

You shouldn't even have to heat it up. Would make it easier I guess.

    295/70/18 hitting Control Arm

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum so please go easy on me. I have a 2015 Tundra TRD 2WD. I recently installed a Readylift 3/1. I wanted to keep the stock 18 inch rims but put new 295/70r18 Nitto Trail Grapplers on. All the research I did on this site and other forums stated I would not have a problem installing 295/70/18 tires on stock 18 inch rims with a 3/1 lift level, but when I went to install the 295/70 r18 Trail Grapplers on the front, the wheels would not fit because the tire was hitting the Upper Control Arm. Again, all my research led me to believe a could put a 295/70 r18 on with no modification so i was shocked to find the UCA was preventing the wheel from being put on.
So, here I am. Did I possibly do something wrong in during the 3 inch spacer install? The truck was running great with the Readylift install and wheel alignment.
What are my options now? Do I need spacers on? If yes, how big? Were all the posts stating 295/70 R18s Trail Grapplers on stock 18 inch rims with a 3inch lift would fit with no modifications? I do not want to buy new rims at this time

I have a 4 wheel drive. Only had to remove front mud flap and had some running on front pan but did t touch the uca. Wondering is 2 and 4 wheel drive is the difference.

Truck looks great. I'm completely stumped maybe the 4 wheel is different. I've seem posts where some trucks needed spacers and some didn't. It this point is in the game I'm just going with spacers. Thank you.

No mine are the actual trd pro wheels. But I’ve seen plasti diped or powder coated and really like them.

I’ve been debating some small spacers for a more agressive look. Post some pics when your done.

@Dbello70 , how did that work out for you? I'm looking at pulling the trigger on some 295/70R18 and need to know if I need to get the spacers. I've got a 3/1 lift and it's 4wd, just curious how it all worked out for ya. If you did get spacers, what size?

The coopers are what came on my truck. Look great but got kinda loud at about 15,000 miles.

I love mine. 305/70 18 but definitely noticed some mpg drop and a little decrease in get up and go. They are a little noisy, but not bad. When comparing to stock lol. All in all I love them. Would def reccomend. Oh and no cmc.. the +25 offset seems to be the sweet spot. I can actually fit my fingers in behind them fairly easily.

so just an update - installed my 295/70R18 Ridge Grapplers on my 3/1 w/o spacers... only thing it rubbed was the skid plate which I rolled back a bit and so far so good... no offroad playing yet - will update once I get some trail roads in, but on pavement so far so good w/ the skid plate trim!

Installing a Ready Lift 3/1, Camburg UCA’s, Spidertrax 1.25” spacers and Cooper STT PRO 295/70R18 on TRD OR wheels next weekend hopefully. All parts should be here by next Thursday. I’ll let you know if there is any rubbing and what I had to do to fix it.

So, with all of the parts in post #27 installed, mud flaps removed and the caster set at 5-5.5 (tech didn’t want to go more) i have no rub on the front bumper at all but am rubbing on the BM at full crank. Sure would be nice if I didn’t have to do the BMC.

What is your set up in this pic? No spacers and 295/70/18 on the TRD Pro rims?

Did you have to run spacers to fit the 295 70 18?
