If it's making the noise at idle not moving, focus on things that move while idling. If it increases with vehicle speed only, focus on things that are wheel speed dependent. If it increases with engine speed only, focus on those things. Keep the parts cannon holstered, diagnose first by ruling things out if the cause is not obvious. Then as it gets narrowed down, test the potential cause before replacing if possible. Soooooo many truck wouldn't start threads on here with new fuel pumps, starters, relays, batteries, ignition cylinders etc and its a bad ground, or a defunct security system.

After replacing my combination switch, I finally have working fog lights! I also ended up installing a set of dual color LED lights (link), because why not?

@artsr2002 I did try to dismantle my old switch, however I couldn't quite figure out how to get to the switch without feeling like I was going to destroy it. Any tips on how work on the shaft? ( )

Also did a drain/fill on the rear diff.

How do you like the dual color fog light bulbs? I have contemplated picked up a set. I really like amber/yellow lights in snow and rain, but white is certainly the best on a typical day.

So i was browsing last week on the forum and stumbled upon an image of a members FGT that had the parts in red in my image cut away and I thought it looked pretty good.

Was it someone from here that had done that to their truck? Was it @FirstGenVol by chance?

Anyways, was thinking of doing the same to mine so was just curious how you went about buttoning all that up and did you relocate the washer fluid reservoir then?

Sometimes I get bored and want to do things to my truck, haha. I plan on owning it another 20 years so dont mind cutting stuff to make it more my own!

With OD off I’m only getting the bump feeling at idle. No hopping upon acceleration. I almost thought it was another misfire. I should go out and buy a fuel pressure gauge; it could be handy.

Tranny fluid levels are good. Right to the top of the full line as usual while idling.

Well apparently the last time I did this like a month ago didn't hold. Must have flew off whilst driving. So I get to do it again. Also explains the sudden leak I've been having.

I think many on here have aftermarket bumpers with that portion cut away. There's the old "Viper Cut" that the Tacoma crowd has made popular. Basically just modding your factory bumper to improve tire clearance and give it that aftermarket look.

Alright, this has probably come up before- does anyone know why headlights yellow like crazy yet the corner lights stay nice and clear? Is there a logical explanation?

@oscardog86 . I didn't cut that part but I did paint it black to help it blend in with the aftermarket bumper.

I like them, though i didn't have time to adjust them and could tell they were pointing too high up so I'm keeping them off until I can. I'll post an update with pics. They're definitely brighter than stock though!

Anything but black or cut really sticks out on every aftermarket bumper I've seen.

I cut those parts out and relocated the windshield fluid tank. Got a smaller one for a Tacoma which fit well near the air filter7CE2105B-4679-441B-BB8A-4B4A52F3A35B.jpg

I cut mine with tin shears.
I did not relocate my.washer reservoir. I just trimmed around it as best I could.

That article is over two years old, but as I understand they don't replace the normal gas with E-85, just stations that sell E-85 can continue to do so during the summer. Ethanol contributes to smog pollution in hot weather, which is why they limit it during those months. It's not legal in CA to run a flex fuel conversion kit where a normal vehicles like ours can run E-85 without issues.

Cool. Heard about it recently, guess it’s been done before. This article is for the recent announcement but says only 8 states & you’re right, Cali isn’t one. https://thehill.com/policy/energy-environment/4483469-epa-ethanol-yearround-decision-states/

Thanks. I like it. Those areas were sticking way out with my bumper & passenger side windshield fluid tank is right behind it so gotta do something about it if you do cut… a decent amount out

You probably know this as it isn't your first time installing one- but if you have to install it by striking it with your palm or tapping with a mallet, you're using too much force!!!
