Anyone running the 17x8.5 -10 offset scs wheels? I had a hard time finding many concrete answers… if so would love to see them or any other size and offset to help me choose

I'm running those. Are you just wanting pictures or something else?

I have quite a few more on my Instagram. OG_Tundra

I've posted a lot on the forum too.

Well, AJ has his right under his username, 265/70R16 (Falken Wildpeak)
FGV is running 285/70R17 (BFG KO2)
EM is also running 285/70R17 (Cooper Discoverer Rugged Trek)

I'll save everyone the effort, tire/wheel stalker over here.

Typo'd on both of you 17'ers, sadly, with my size. Was rushing off to grab the kid at soccer.

I have to update mine but they are 265/70R17’s. I’m 2wd so I did have plenty of rubbing after install. Tires are Mickey Thompson Baja boss AT’s so a pretty agressive all terrain. I went with bilstein 5100’s on stock coils, notch 2 at .75” of lift and solved about 99.9% rubbing.

@shifty` @FirstGenVol played with tire dimensions today, currently on, 265/75/16 on stocks. Looking for a skinnier tire than 285's (wanting to keep mpg's up and less rolling resistance) yet larger than 265/70/17's thinking of 255/80/17's any experience or know anyone running them?

I think the 265/70r17 will be more than you think they are. In a lot of new trucks they are stock but paired with a 1 or 2” lift they are pretty big on our trucks

Underrated size … 1” taller than the stock 265/65r17 size but same width so suspension rub is practically eliminated as a risk. Next reasonable size jump is 275/70r17 which only gives you ~0.6” diameter increase while adding 0.4” width. Same story going from 275/70r17 to 285/70r17, adding ~0.6” height and 0.4” width.

The most dramatic 17” tire diameter height jump comes staying with the 265 but bumping up from 265/65 to 265/70. The gains after that seem minimized, you’re mostly getting fatter/more sidewall and adding more weight, eh? But maybe my perspective is flawed, or I’m missing something a tire expert could point out.

I don't feel like debating tire size anymore. It has been discussed constantly for years. You'll get a lot of different opinions here. Do a search to get more info. 255/80/17 are a good option but make sure you check the weight. New tires keep getting heavier. The numbers surprised me.

I ultimately didn’t go with the 255’s since the scs wheels are 8.5” wide. That’s almost stretching it on a 255 tire doesn’t give you much sidewall to work with was my reasoning. Not dramatic but enough to keep me from getting them.

255/80/17 isn't stretch at all on our 8.5" wheel.
