Should I replace just the bushing or the whole arm?

Hey y’all I’m a new member here and have got tons of questions I will be posting in the future. My 02 tundra just got to 364k and have got to do more maintenance on it. Recently got a Haynes Repair Manual but still learning as I go. My main worries atm is my transmission slipping and my upper control arms. The bushings look like shit so should I replace just the bushing or the whole arm? I don’t even know where to start with transmission stuff. I appreciate any feedback or advice !

On the transmission, go to that thread @Burgmane linked, near the top is a link to the FSM/field service manual. Check that for the proper procedure to verify fluid level if you haven't already. If you've ever changed or drain/filled the fluid level, you may want to confirm you used the correct fluid also.

You want the Factory Service Manual. Haynes doesn't provide the same level of detail you need for a lot of repair/replacement jobs.

    Thanks for the feedback yall!
Update: saving up and planning for new upper/lower arms, by end of summer.
Mechanic buddy of mine suggested the first thing I do for the front suspension is replace the LBJs.

Installed new lower ball joints on both sides over the weekend. And got a realignment earlier today. The only trouble I ran into was damaging the castle nut connecting the tie rod. Spent hours trying to thread it back on, so decided to replace the tie rod entirely. Anything I should 3x check or?? What y’all think!?

Before you get too far, you did use OEM lower balljoints right? Just making sure. Here's just some a couple of the people who thought everyone warning about this was full of shit, and had to learn the hard way. , , link, link, link, link, link, link, link

That warning is plastered all over the thread @Burgmane linked you to above. He didn't ask you to read it "if you want to". You actually need to start there, read it. Before you spend another dollar.

I used moog upper control arms on my Sequoia and while I dont love them, they've been fine for 50,000 miles. I won't use them again, but if money is tight, they are ok.

The bushings are replaceable, but you'll need to either cut them out or get a baby bottle jack and then might not have enough strength to pop them out.

That's why I called @voodoo2626 out on it. Huge mistake, if you want your truck to stay in one piece. Can't say we didn't warn about it before purchase.
