    Imma keep it stock
Good thing is half moons and cam plugs are also new. Once everything is clean, if there are any future leaks, they should be easy to spot.

You might as well install a TransGo shift kit while you're at it, in preparation for the supercharger

Here it is plugged into my 2006 w/DRL: https://www.tundras.com/threads/sma...cab-trucks-with-drl.74207/page-2#post-2414473

I don't want to mislead you, so go under your dash and find the flasher. Pull it out. Does it match this? https://www.tundras.com/threads/sma...gular-cab-trucks-with-drl.74207/#post-2388184

If the footprint and pins of it matches, you're good to go. Just don't buy the product on scAmazon. Someone is faking them, I've seen fakes for DD's flasher, and fakes for the OBDLink MX+

Back when I had my 5vz Tacomas and a used grey gen1 TRD SC waiting to be rebuilt and installed, I had planned to do that shift kit, as well as all the URD goodies, from smaller pulley to 7th injector.
Alas, life happened and I had to sell the SC before my dreams were realized.

Probably. But I bet you'd have to find an ECM from a 2wd 2uz 4runner to make it work

Maybe if it's separate from the ECM. I thought it was all in one, but I'm no expert. I just know there were some 4runners in 2003 & 2004 iirc that were non vvti and got the A750E. There were some LX, LC and GX that had similar setups, but they were all A750F to my understanding (4wd).

I used these as well, worked great. I had a wind noise issue, and both latches were broken. After installing I still had the issue and when looking closer I saw the glass was not even coming into contact with the weather seal.
I ended up removing the inner panel/and glass, and tweaking (I think I used a dead blow hammer?) the side bracket like you described, hammering it in just a smidge. I think the hinges get sprung when the latch is broken and someone OVER opens the window.

Went on an adventure this weekend. Plan was to get onto the black river and hook into some hogs all weekend. But the snow had roads closed so we had to go further south to get into any of the forest. It was supposed to be cold AF where we planned originally and I was prepared but thankfully it was nice where we stayed and the canyon blocked a lot of the wind

    In the truck bed spare?
That’s my second spare, unmounted. Which is genius because you can cram all kinds of stuff in the empty space! Less weight, easily maneuverable, and a odd ball storage area…..
@des2mtn gave me the idea for storage.

No I was thinking the one on the rear bumper looked new. How does having a tire in your bed create less weight and more space? Do you mean space under the bed? I should probably pick up a 2nd spare.

The one on the swing out is old news.
Having a UNMOUNTED 2nd spare weights less than a mounted spare, and you can use the inside of the tire to jam stuff inside; I had two tarps, my fishing bag, a airplane, and a leaf blower all inside with more room for activities

if you blow your road tire, swap out your normal spare, then take blowout and unmounted to a tire shop, easy peasy

Need a little advice here. Got my 265/70r17’s mounted up on my 17x8 -10mm offset wheels and they rub pretty bad. Looks like it’s catching the front of the fender on the inside corner and the mud flap.

this is on an 06 dc 2wd with 160k miles. I have bilsteins coming on Thursday, going on stock coils. I wanted to go with them set at the 2nd notch (lowest lift) to keep my rake and best ride but do you all think this will be enough to take out the rubbing? The truck is on stock shocks so maybe with bushing wear I’ll get close to an inch of lift?

Interesting you're rubbing up front, but I kinda expected the mudflaps. What tire are you running?

For now, pull the mudflaps. Just for now, to get to the bottom of other rubbing and figure out where it's happening minus the flaps.

The lift will help you pull up way from the tires and maybe reduce a tad of rub. The big thing that's going to alleviate rub will be your alignment. Try finding a shop that'll get you close to the numbers in the megathread: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

Basically, make sure they know you don't want to stick with what puts you in the green. As much caster as possible, but here's a baseline from the experts here who do alignments:
    • Alignment numbers after lifting: This is important, if you want a roadworthy driving experience without eating tires after your lift, there's a sweet spot for the 1GT that's been road-tested and proven. Specifically ask the shop to aim for the following, per our resident experts:
      • For 'normal' or 'mostly freeway': -0.3 camber, 2.6 - 2.8 caster, 0.1 - 0.2 total toe (0.05 - 0.10 per side).
      • For those who like to corner faster: -0.5 camber, 2.6 - 2.8 caster, 0.1 - 0.2 total toe (0.05 - 0.10 per side).
      • Basically, get that camber closer to -0.1 if you're mostly driving freeway, but aiming closer to -0.3 may help offset outside-edge tire wear.
      • IF you are running SPC upper control arms: Some shops may be unfamiliar with this product, it allows camber/caster to be set from both lower and upper control arm, versus OEM, which only allows setting from below. My advice? Consider pre-clocking your SPC uppers at "C" before going in for alignment, or tell the shop that's installing to clock at "C" instead of "D" so you can max out the caster later. Possibly the easiest way to get there would be to max out the cams with the LCA as far forward as possible (front cams pointing inward, rear cams pointed outward). Use the SPC balljoint slot to get things in the ballpark, lock down the balljoint, then fine-tune with the cams on the lower control arms. On mine, with my alignment already good, I found clocking the UBJ at "D" puts you in the OEM ballpark, "C" puts you close to the numbers above. When you get it home, make sure the UBJ shim is properly in its slot, then confirm the nut is torqued to spec (150ftlb)!
I'd just add, in all honesty, if you get or have SPC uppers, I'd go so far as to clock at "B" and dial it back from there.

not looking to get new upper control arms if I don’t have to. I just want to make these 265s fit. Most of the rubbing is on the bottom inside of the bumper maybe I can trim that.

or hopefully the new shocks will add a bit more since my current stuff is sagged out idk. I thought they would fit

you can see where it’s rubbing the outside edge of the tire. Tires are Mickey Thompson Baja boss at

I would imagine you'll need mud flaps trimmed or removed, inner fender liner trimmed (where it meets the mudflaps and fender flares), and possibly minor front bumper plastic trimming. Easy peasy. You shouldn't have to mess with the pinch weld, so rejoice in that. I would think you'll be perfect with the Bilsteins preloaded a little. Maybe 1-2 inch

The Mickey Baja and Legend are pretty aggressive, gnarly ATs, to the point they almost look like a light MT to my eyes. I'm sure that has a lot to do with your experience, and mine. All these guys running KO2s who don't rub much at all, I have a feeling, would be eating plastic and metal left and right with either.

yea I wasn’t going to go with the mickeys but someone ordered them and didn’t pick them up so I got a deal on them. Aren’t these size a factory option for these trucks? I’m hoping that the second notch and a little trimming will do the truck. Right now it runs harder than a back alley massage parlor
