Needed some E-rated tires to try with the camper so I swapped these Toyota Trail Edition wheels/tires from my other vehicle on the Tundra. Not sure if I’ll keep em but 265/75/16 KO2 fit my stock truck w/o issue. Wheels are 16x7 and (I think) +14 offset.

These just popped up somewhat near me. Would I need spacers on my 05 AC 4x4 or would they fit no problem?IMG_3133.png

Those wheels are going to sit further inward
Inner Clearance: 15mm less (the inside of the wheel to the strut housing)
Outer Position: RETRACT by 15mm (position of the outside edge of the wheel)

They will bolt up, but they are going to sit further inward about 0.6" inward. This might make the truck look a bit skinny with the wheels sitting in a little further but yes they fit.

They will fit, but they will likely cause rubbing... they will look pretty nice with wheel spacers though.
Pictures above are without wheel spacers. My buddy put 1.5" wheel spacers on and they look great (not as tucked in as in the pics)

Looks like 265/70R17 if you zoom into the pic.

6 lugs need a multiple of 6 spokes. Every other wheel is wrong.

And 5 lugs should only have multiples of 5 spokes. There I said it.

My buddy is running 285's in his set up. So wider and taller thean the stock 265's from the Tacoma.

And if my memory serves me, he had a rubbing issue with the tire on the upper control arm.
Which makes sense: Wide tire + Lots of positive offset (tucked in) = Rub-a-dub dubs
Below you can see how much the wheels are tucked in when he put them on his truck.

He ended up running 1.25" Wheel Spacers to mitigate the rubbing issue. This also helped to push the wheels out to give his truck a more proper looking stance that matched the factory fender flares much better.
The wheels ended up looking great with the wheel spacers.

Hey all, I’m going to switch from the stock 17x7.5 to some 16x7 wheels and run 33.1”x10.3” wide tires. I’m using all the calculators to get offset right and try to keep them in as factory a position as possible, but I haven’t taken the 13WL calipers into account yet. Anyone have examples of 16x7” that clear the calliper and have similar offset to stock?

What do I need to look for in 16” wheels to know if they will rub the calliper or not?

Anyone else running 255/85r16 and not using wheel spacers? Thanks

I have 13WL calipers and 16x7.5 OEM faux beadlocks. I had some noise when the dust shields which required the very scientific method of pulling them away from the wheel to resolve. Not a ton of extra space but it fits.

Oh my dust sheds are thrashed. They look like tin foil at this point so they will get addressed eventually.

do you know your backspacing? Those wheels are expensive and I’m just trying to keep it cheap

I believe 10mm vs the OEM FGT starfish / patricks / whatever at 15? But 7.5 wide vs 7 so that has a .25" effect on the inside.

Thing is, 13WL's are stock for 2004-2006? Or 2005-2006? I dunno, but they really should fit with stock wheels.

Found these stock 04-06 16x7 +15mm offset wheels I’m going to pick up tomorrow. I was hoping to find aftermarket wheels that were similar dimensions but lightweight. The 255/85r16 tires I want are heavy!!! 58.4lbs. Oh well, throwing EBC yellow stuff 4000 pads on, anything else I can do to help with braking?

Make sure the rear brakes are properly adjusted, including the parking brake.

Will do, I heard that was important. I plan to switch to a manual prop valve by wilwood to get the rear brakes to engage how I want. Then when I lift it I won’t worry about trying to extend the lever that controls rear brake pressure. Any drum brake recommendations? I have the front covered.

Stick with the OEM adjusters. Just clean and re-grease.
See the Brake Adjustment Theory sticky thread.
Download the FSM for '05-'06 for adjustment information if that thread doesn't leave you confident.

Ok I will revisit that sticky, I’m going to be diving into brakes and fine tuning them after I get the lift and tires on. Hopping off this wheel/tire thread until I get them hooked up

The truck is going to be a daily driver for the next four months… Went from Falken Wildpeak AT3 285 70 17 to 245 75 17. 2008 FJ cruiser 17 x 7 steel wheels. Will install the SCS wheels back on when it returns to being a weekend rig.

Been on the hunt for OEM 16" too. I want to run the new Falken AT4W in 255/85/r16 C- load 58lbs. I got lucky and a set of TRD Baja wheels came up for sale locally for cheap. I believe the Falken will be back in stock in June.

Yeah same, those AT4W 255/85r16 are sweet. It’s nice to have c load instead of all the good options being E

Quick question! There’s a guy selling oe wheels with 265/75r16s tires near me. My 05 AC 4x4 is all stock and I’m wondering if these would rub at all?

Which OE wheels? That's a super important detail. Got a pic? Do you see anyone rocking them in this thread? 265/75r16 is effectively same diameter as 265/70r17, which is 1" larger than OEM, and there are ample people here running that size with no lift, or a simple front strut spacer.

They’re the Patrick wheels. I don’t think I’ve seen any one running that size tire without any lift

I can't imagine why you couldn't run that tire size without a lift. If @abcinv can get away with a simple 1/2" or 3/4" spacer up front and run even larger tires (275/70r17, 0.6" larger diameter) on his DC with no rub, then ...

Newbie here looking for some advice. I'd like to buy some used wheels (17"x8.5, -10mm offset, 4.36" backspace) and pair with some new Falken Wildpeak AT4Ws (265/70/17).

I currently have the Toyota snowflake wheels (17"x7 15mm offset - 4.59" backspace) paired with Michelin Defender LTX M/S (265/65/17). The truck also has the upgraded GX460 brake calipers and Bilstein 5100s all around (location #1 stock setting).

Also, don't want to mess with spacers - I'll by other wheels if this combo is problematic.

Any issues with the wheel/tire combo I'm looking to buy? Thanks

Anything "Wrong" with it? Not really "wrong", it's in the bs range you want, you should be about flush with the fender flares if your truck has them.

Do yourself a favor, read the "Suspension, wheel and tires ..." section in reply #1 over here: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

My buddy drives an 00 Tundra, stock suspension height on 235/85R16 (essentially same diameter as the 265/75R16, just 0.1" larger diameter) and has no interference issues.
