Thank you. Knowing we have the same tire size, it looks like from stock suspension I gained almost 3” front and 3” rear. From TRD pro it’s around .5” front and 3” rear.

I just found a bag of bushings deep in one of the shock boxes of my 6112/5160. would someone mind helping me out with the orientation and location? no paperwork and I re-used the ones I had on the truck.
I ordered pre-assembled 6112 from Wheelers so I am assuming rear?

    6112/5160, CB +2 shackles.
Hello, first time posting but long time reader.
I'm looking into everything I need for the 6112/5160 set up. So far I have the kit order just waiting for it to show up. In the meantime I want to get anything else I will need on ordered.

    Current specs:
    Stock 2017 Crewmax magnetic gray
    Stock TRD off-road rims.
    38 Gal tank
Measuring from middle of hub to fender:
    FL: 22 FR: 22 1/8
    RL: 23 1/2 RR: 23 5/8

    6112s will be 1.9" (clip #3)

The my goal is to level the truck and put on 285/70/r18 Nitto ridge grapplers on stock rims.

So what else do I need?

-CB .5 shim for front left? Anything on right?
    -Bolt kit for the shim?
-will I need CB shackles for the rear?
    -UCA's? - I don't think I will need.
    -Tcase drop? - I don't think I will need.
    -what am I missing?

I drive lots of highways with hunting and fishing trails on the weekends. I don't tow much but I use the truck like a truck.

    I appreciate the help!

Man, I'm getting ready to install that exact setup except for the stock wheels. I'll be running 18X9 +25s,
285 70R18 Toyo AT3s, 6112s set at the 1.9 setting, and a single 1/4" CB shim on the driver's side.
Now I'm curious about the shim bolt kit. I'll be installing it this weekend so I'll keep you posted.

Just recently did all this for myself.
    - Shims are preference. I did a 2/1 .25 shim on each side which gave me 1” driver and .5” passenger. I have no more tundra lean. You can do 1 driver shim if you wish, you would just end up with less overall lift but it sounds like you want level so no worries there. You wont need a bolt kit if you just do 1, not sure about 2.
    - no need for UCA
    - no need for diff drop
    - cb shackles if you want some rear end lift and more durable shackles. Smallest one is .625” lift. Wouldn’t hurt because once you level the front, you gain some visual sag with any weight in the rear.

So what is the reason for doing CB 0.50” shims on the 1.9” lift setting vs just the top setting? Both net 2.5”. Is one better than the other? Thanks!

    Less preload better ride

I'll be doing 1.9" with a 2/1 shim. And a 3" CB shackle. No UCA (but might do one just because though not necessary)

Bumper/winch. Full skids. Camp gear/ski stuff/bikes on the back

Ah. I was thinking that. Yea I can’t afford UCA’s at the moment. Figure I’ll risk it without them. They will be my first purchase next year. I’m going to do the same set up with the 2/1 shims and +3 cb shackle. Can’t wait.

I run 285/65/18 and have no rub on stock lift. 285/65 are wider than 275/70. Once I lift I’ll go bigger when these wear out. But I like the look now. My goal would be 285/70s.

You’ve convinced me to go with 1.9 up front. Currently running 285/65/18. Only have about 6k on them so I’ll be waiting a bit to upgrade to 285/70. Prob do rims at that point. The +2cb looks great on your truck. I’m thinking of doing the +3 due to my diamondback cover and panels in the bed. Figure it will have the same look as yours with my added weight. Any issues with tire rub?

Only a very slight rubbing when backing up and the wheel turned at full lock but it's very minor and negligible.

Thanks for the info. You think if I added the shims (2 driver/1 passenger for 2.4” I’d avoid that rubbing?) did you install the kit yourself? Trying to figure out what a fair price for install is.

You'll have more luck with bumper shims than you will top plate shims if you're hoping to knock out the rubbing in reverse :)

I had the bumper shims installed. I still get a feint plastic rub in reverse every once in a while.

    6112/5160, CB +2 shackles.
    Thanks for the info!
I ended up calling coach builder and talking with David. Super good dude. I ordered 2 (.5) shims for drivers side and 1(.5) shim for passenger, +2 shackles. No bolt kit needed for up to 2 shims.
Hopefully I get the 6112s and CB parts in soon and I'll post some before and afters when all said and done.

Getting ready to order my set up soon. Pricing out shops for install. Many are telling me that due to living in the North East, the lower control arms and eccentrics often seize up and need to be replaced. That adds about +$700 to my kit. Anyone experience this??? Not what I wanted to hear.

    Sorry for the major delay but here are my ground to fender numbers. RF = 40 1/4” LF = 39 7/8”. RR = 41 5/8” LR = 41 3/8”

This is on the 4th setting (highest) Bilstein 6112. I’m also going to remeasure my fender to center of hub again, it’s been a little while since the install.

I got you. We also have them on the shelf here at Hotshot Offroad

6112 has a new banded piston for more consistent valving - New "super spacers" which are just essentially a new/more robust internal spacer design - The black labelling for a branding change - Body now has a clear coat on it.

5160 has the same new clearcoat and decal treatment as the 6112s plus - there’s now a billet clamp that affixes the reservoir to the shock body. Some have been shipping with frame mounts for some applications now. The endcap design has changed and fittings have changed. Design change is intended to increase long-term durability against leaking.

They alluded to some valving changes, but didn't expand on them. Having been around them all I don't notice anything.
