I picked up a spotless new whip a few months back, so I figured I would join the forum. I sold my 2015 F150 Lariat because of the poor ride quality, constant issues with the sunroof ($4k repair and still leaking), turbo coolant line issues, and having to replace 2 throttle bodies. The throttle body issue kills the truck during hard acceleration when you need it most :))). Additionally, despite having good shocks (5100's), the rear end seemed like it wanted to hop off of the road when I hit a bump - the truck is too light. I still kind of miss the nice interior and the boost from the turbos, but I think I made a sound decision moving to a Toyota. It's been nice not having to worry about something breaking and feeling safer.

So far, the Tundra engine seems really strong and the ride quality is leaps and bounds better. I have some bilstien 5100's and Toyo AT II's (33x12.5r20) in the garage - I'm just waiting until I find some good 20-inch stockers to pair with it and I will have an update for you guys.IMG_2540.jpg

Andddddd the paint vs chrome war begins. I think a good mixture of the two is key. I would do that, but I am scared of what those overlays do to the underlying body. I've definitely heard of fender flares causing some damage as they fill up with debris.

    Great Truck.

I went from a 2022 Ford Edge St to a 2018 Tundra for the long term reliability. No regrets in 6 months and nearly 6,000 miles so far. It is hungry for gas but I'll take that for it to last 10 years.

Welcome! Just recently picked up a 2020 cement truck as well. I have the 20" TSS Offroad OEM wheels I just removed if you might be interested. Not sure where your located but hit me up and we can discuss.

Thanks everyone. I've definitely been visiting the cement tundra discussion and taking notes.

Yep, one trip to a dealership throws any gas savings out of the window. I also, prefer to support the O&G business lol

Hey Cement Brothers. You can find my initial "Hello Fellow Tundras" @cmtgrylmtd had the SAME crap with FORD. Just ask @pwpblue , he and I kinda met on an F150 forum. I had a 21 F-150 that consistently spent more time in the garage. Front differential kept eating itself, nevermind constant grinding from wheel hubs. Truck was BARELY 10k miles. I carvana'd and moved on with my life https://www.tundras.com/threads/potentially-shopping-for-a-tundra.132613/page-2#post-3398711

You can see my wolfbox 850 mod, if you wanted to get all geeky on being able to view the bed from the review, nevermind record front and rear.
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/installed-wolfbox-rearview-mirror-dashcam.135061/#post-3426169

When I was in the decision making process, I talked to a mechanic I respect when I need more depth of skill than my own. It was a 5.7 Tundra or a Ram 1500. He dam near interrupted me when I said RAM. "Get the 5.7, those things are great to work on, and dam near bulletproof if maintained correctly".

Here is my close relative playing in the foothills of WV. Trust me you won't miss the Ford when you can rely on your Tundra.

IMG_2038.jpg IMG_2272.jpg If you are thinking of doing a chrome delete then I highly recommend getting the overlays from Bumper Shellz. My rear bumper was color matched from the factory but I installed the hood bulge, grill surround and bumper caps on the front. Love the cohesive look with this Cement color. I just installed the Cement front door handles yesterday. The mirror caps were one of my first mods I did.

I already am learning to appreciate the reliability and having a truck that was built the right way. Also, I always thought snow made for a great car picture, but I know it just annoys people who have to live with it.

To update the thread, I still haven't turned a wrench on the truck, but my garage is quickly filling up with parts. Just waiting to find some limited wheels in the HTX area. I might eventually move to some method 314's and 35 inch BFG's, but I don't want to get ahead of myself.

Wildpeak AT3 385/65/20. I do have two of these wheels in my basement that I would let go for a really good price if your close to NC.
