just got back from picking her up in montana. I made it back before this EPIC storm his us in reno and all of the west coast.
so this will only pertain to those who want to get dual fans in the 6.5 ( long bed) config. I opted for dual fans, and I thought I had enough clearance to fit a 400-500 ish watt solar panel in the middle. you can only fit a width of 36.5 inches (safety) wide and that is if you have the OEM/factory tracks on the roof. I ordered a 300 watt single cell that will fit. since this is a 2024 model, from what i was told they have changed a few things., there is a SAE plug on the external aft of the topper, this allows you to plug in a solar panel MC4 to SAE into the camper in which you can use foldable solar or any other solar panels to get that extra juice which is COOL!. I have the rest of the supplies, fridge, sink, awning to install, gonna be a while since we got HAMMERED . I will prob do a video showing it all off since the community is super small and there isn't a TON of solar videos with these toppers.

LOL because €%~*! California and their state taxes. That’s why. MT is a free state and I’d rather support theory economy than out “lovely” neighbors to our west……

Also, can confirm that these brackets work on the project m . When I was in Mt the dealer told me they just came out with their own brackets for the FWC project m and all models. Didn’t know about that option. But these dasmule ones looks SOLID, well build, all stainless . And thanks to @memario1214 for THE SWEET arb awning.

Ha, I thought about that right after I posted. I bought an FWC Eagle in 2012 for my Tacoma. There were no dealers then so FWC had an install shop in Reno close to GSR so they could finalize the deal out of CA and save customers the sales tax.

    Truck looks good.

Picked up some tie down rings locally. Use the existing bolts where it mounts to the bed rails. Wired up my solar. Will have to come back later with 6-8g butt connectors to splice in the external saw plug into the solar line. Wired up the anker f2600 (big beast! ) and tested it all with a Renogy 100watt panel. Waiting on my 350 panel to hard mount to the roof between the dual fans.had my little helper out there too.

300 watt panel came today. Measured it, drilled some holes and installed baby l brackets . Mounted it to the roof tracks. Cloudy and overcast so not getting great watts atm. I also wired the external saw plug . Cant wait to try this out soon.

I mean just riding normal fire roads and basic off-roading? Nobody expects a truck to be able to hold a 1k+ camper and rock crawl without disastrous results.

Hi I just got a 2005 Tundra then found a FWC fleet shortly afterward. All I’ve done suspension wise is airbags so far. Im on D-rated tires near the max 50psi and 50 psi in the airbags. The factory shocks/struts have about 100k on them and I’m assuming the leaf pack is original so nearly 200k. There’s a little more shimmy and body lean than I’d like with the camper on. It’s not as bad as I’d expected considering 1k pound ish camper, but what are the steps to improve it? upgrade shocks/struts? E-rated tires? new springs and add a leaf? new everything?

Im coming from a 2nd gen tacoma TRD off road where the factory leafs are garbage ( upgraded to Icon rxt) and the lifespan of the stock Bilsteins is maybe 40k and not sure what to expect with the Tundra.

That's what I had installed. I sent them my empty and loaded weights told him I wanted 2-2.5" lift and he nailed it.

Would anybody with a project m on a 5.5 bed mind getting me some measurements? I need the exterior dimensions of the bottom section of the camper. I'm planning on building a lower "tray" for the camper to sit on a flatbed for my AT Atlas but I am thinking about switching to a project m in the future and I want to be sure it will fit both campers.

SO anyone that has a 3rd gen with a project m, how did you get your Pm to seal? I ran a strip of rubber weathering strip along the top, its been great at keeping water out, however when i took it to the pressure washer car wash, no good. I added a few more pieces of weatherstrip it seals great but on the corners where the door sits flush with the camper it is starting to come up. I bought some butyl tape to play around with, I have also pondered the idea of figuring a way to make a rubber/silicone mold that I can just slide in and close the hatch and take it out when I need to. I also was digging around a few other forums and several people have suggested to run your fan up top thus creating pressure. Has anyone had any luck? stationary wont be such a big deal unless its extremely cold or hot and you don't want hot or cold air in.

Yep! I just installed a Renogy 200w panel and Victron controller. I did a test run camping at a ski resort over the weekend. The low was 18 degrees. The batteries (2x100 agm) got down to ~65% running the furnace all night and solar fully charged the battery before 11am. I was a little surprised how much power the fan pulls and by how quickly it recharged in winter.

They've definitely made improvements in the newer models but mine is solid. Bought it from the original owner. It has a 180W solar.
