I will check. Just got the motor running it definitely sounds like it’s coming from the driver side of the engine

Could also be cracked manifold or leaky manifold gasket. The ticking sound can be heard more clearly when the engine slows down due to going in gear (when cold it'll idle around 1200, when in drive 850 ish).

These trucks are notorious for exhaust manifold leaks that will sound like tick-tick-tick when its running, but being in gear should not affect it.

it definitely only does it when the engine is warm and at low idle

It's not piston slap, as these engines are not known for that. The lifters in these do not need periodic adjustment either. Ticking is most often the exhaust issue, new manifolds are the fix for that. If it changes after it's warmed up, that is a good sign it's the exhaust. Injectors also tick, but it's pretty quiet usually and not heard inside the truck. If it only does it in gear, then I would suspect something else.

My engine ticks in my 04. It is more pronounced when stopped and in drive, since the lower engine RPM accentuates the sound.

Source of the infamous exhaust tick on these. Flange separation from the manifold tubes.

When you put your vehicle in "reverse", remember that the output from the transmission puts a twist force between the engine/transmission in the opposite direction as from "drive"

Your rubber engine and transmission mounts have some wear to them allowing this force to push things further than when it was new.

For diagnosing noises, and rattles it would not change something like piston slap which would be possibly more pronounced at certain rpms (it should be the same in D or R) but other rattles will speak differently as the twist from powertrain to frame is opposite.

Piston slap usually only happens when cold. I have a subaru that has had that for 10 years now...goes away as soon as it warms up.

I usually run whatever oil is on sale, last time I used Valvoline..towards the end (change every 5k or 4.5k miles) if the truck would sit ..i swear i was getting piston slap like noises. Got rid of valvoline, no problems since. Could have been the manifolds zone but that start up had me stearing at oil pressure and checking exhaust for smoke. Maybe bad batch of oil. My oem exhaust is just starting to develope little leaks. A hummingbirds fart could penetrate my resonator at this point.
