Top one is air temp sensor. Bottom one looks like the transfer case breather, but I'm not sure.

There’s a nipple that it fits perfectly onto in the picture that’s why I wasn’t sure. Originally I also thought it was the breather.

Yea, tc vent looks like its missing a vent valve. (Normal, mine & 2 others havent had it either, but they're a good idea). Move all the vents higher & keep em clean. These fluids dont need extra moisture.

Are you saying that the hose needs put on the nipple? Or am I missing something entirely? Pardon my French.

to reiterate, I just bought this truck and am unsure whether this hose goes on the nipple I’m pointing at? Or is the nipple a breather for the tc like mr bee was saying?

Looks like that hose might need replaced (end is deformed). Pretty easy if you have small hands. You can re-use that exterior protector on the new hose. It attaches to the top of the transfer case (there is another nipple up there). Similar setup with the front diff actuator, but that line leads to a breather next to the engine.

I apologize but I’m still unsure what to do for the moment. Do I need to put that hose on that nipple or not? The hose fits perfectly and is the correct length but I cannot find any information and my 4x4 works perfectly.

yup, plug it back on. I suspect it's gonna fall off though. the end is shot. It keeps moisture out of the actuator so the contacts don't corrode. You might try trimming off the split end of it if you have enough extra hose (it shouldn't be kinked).

Short term, trim the end to a non-cracked portion, attach back to nipple and use a ziptie to help it stay in place. Long term, that whole hose is getting dry rotted, needs to be replaced.

This is the correct answer. You don't want dirt and shit getting in there. And be sure to test the 4WD is working. And read this thread for other shit you need to do: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/
