I have the 77.5 on the magnuson intake w/ AFE dryflow and the SABM. It’s still plenty rich at WOT but I am due to check the duty cycle since swapping to the 77.5. We petitioned to have the 77.5 made to fill the gap between the 75 and the 80, because the 75 seemed like a bit too much for most of us at sea level. The 76 of course ups the ante that much more, but maybe it’s negligible?

    interesting!
    and you're on dw650s?
log and let us know what your dc looks like.

    are you also boost referenced?

Yup, boost referenced on 650s with the modded Harrop FPR which I believe is 51psi or so according to @VWTim IIRC. I’ll get a log at some point. I can say that even on the 80mm I saw as high as 86% for a split second.

dang... having me more worried. wishing dw made 750's or 1000's for our trucks. I would have jumped on that.

Could always get yourself an FFV pressure regulator that bumps it up to 60psi. On paper, injectors rated at 650 at 43psi should be capable of 760+ at 60 psi…if the fuel pump and rest of the fuel system can hack it.

I've hit 80% DC on DW650's with an 85mm, but I was pig rich at 9.2-9.5:1. I also almost max the MAF at redline with the 85mm Harrop.

With boost referenced and maybe a FFV FPR, I think a 76mm should be ok with DW650's, but it'll be 85-90% DC is my guess at sea level. Not operating up there constantly, I wouldn't be worried. If this was a track car that redlined shifts constantly, 750+ would be the way to go.

I will be doing some testing when I can get time, specifically for intake vacuum (pre throttle body) vs boost over several changes. Maggy box, SABM, 80mm, and 77.5mm pulleys. I have a dual map sensor test rig built, I just need time.

Then eventually GM or RCF TB.

It’s probably very dependent on the conditions each day. I just did a log since I was due for one after the pulley swap anyway. 41 degrees today and the highest duty cycle I saw on the 77.5mm was 85%.

If it isn't enough I'll buy them off of you so you can upgrade. I'm doing injectors and tune and gauge for a guy in a few weeks and was going to order the DW650s for him.

Ordered my 76mm for my new Magnuson TSV2650 that was installed 2 weeks ago. Now I suppose I'll need some injectors. Consensus seems to be that the 650's will be sufficient it seems. What about the upgraded fuel pump that came with my SC? Will I likely need to upgrade again as well? And final question is who does everyone recommend for remote tuning. I had my SC installed by National Speed out of Richmond, VA, but I'm not committed to them by any means.

And kudos to Snivilous on the prompt order confirmation and shipping info. I swear I had it like 20 minutes after ordering this morning.

I heard a rumor that Sniv may have a spare set of NIB DW650's...

Just got back from dropping it off at UPS! I bumped the shipping speed from normal ground so hopefully it gets there before the weekend. Was wondering who it was since it's not often someone I don't recognize buys a pulley!

I have a set of DW650 injectors (as well as an Innovate PSB-1 wideband/boost gauge) on the way that I want to get rid of. Had a customer that wanted me to modify two supercharged Tundras, but then he decided he didn't want to modify one of them after I ordered 2x of all the parts. If you're interested I'll ship them for free, I paid $1238 for the two sets, call it $600 and free shipping if you want. They just got sent out from DW today so will be a couple days until I get them. Food for thought.

And if you need a wideband, same deal. I paid $600 for the two, call it $300 and free shipping if you want it.

@carn_dogg is running the exact above setup and lives at sea level so can chime in too. Our thoughts has been the Magnuson fuel pump seems to be keeping up with the 650s, though the 650s are maxed right at redline with the 76mm pulley. Whether that's due to the pump running out or the injectors is hard to say though. The Magnuson airbox also runs out of capacity at redline (I made a post in the general thread a few days ago, but the 650s + 76mm + Magnuson airbox has everything maxing out at the same time and making 11-12psi of boost, and while maxing out isn't good, it happens right at redline so is fine in my opinion and you get the most out of the setup, albeit don't really have room to push more power if you want to do that, but arguably at that boost you probably don't want to push much more power anyways).

As for tuning, lots of options. I forget who, a couple people have had National Speed tune their truck. Could ask on the General Supercharger Thread since I forget who they were. That'd probably be my choice due to convenience (and pending others reviews). Keep in mind you ideally do the injectors and tune at the exact same moment since the tune needs to be heavily adjusted for the injectors, so if you have National do the injector upgrade then would make sense for them to tune it also.

Normally I would be all over the deal on the injectors and wideband O2, however with spending $13k on my SC and LSD install, $9k on tree removal, and just signing a contract for replacing roofs on two houses I am tapped out at the moment. I was just going to gather parts over the next couple of years. I was planning on running it as is until the Magnuson warranty was up and then doing the swap. I've been reading the general SC thread for a month now and am only 130 pages in so far, so I imagine I'll come across some additional wisdom in the next 350 pages :)

Understandable, though I would caution on the 76mm. @carn_dogg and I went through tuning his truck for the 76mm and the Magnuson injectors were running out of fuel around 5000rpm. Now whether it's safe with the amount of lean out for the second or so until it shifts, and how you drive and how much you're in boost, is another question. But just be cautious if you slap the 76mm on, it is a massively different animal compared to the stock pulley. Ironically the part that makes a lot of power costs $100, but everything to safely run that $100 part is an order of magnitude more.

Understand 100%. No intention of putting on the pulley without new injectors and a custom tune. My Tundra is my daily driver and I'm not looking to grenade anything. Plan is just collect necessary parts and then get everything done at once by a reputable tuner. Like I mentioned earlier I plan on running it stock with the Magnuson tune until the warranty is up. Then I'll play with bumping the power.

Just got through reading your build thread, great stuff. Seems like we are about due for another update :) I'm currently at 123k on my 2016 Crewmax. So I am hoping for a long and fun SC life out of her.

I would caution you on the mag tune. I know it's designed to be 'safe' and it always seemed fine (only ran it for 3 months with mag tune), but once I had the custom tune done and everything dialed in the way it should be... it was a whole different truck. And you could really see it in the AFR's that the tune was dialed in for the truck and setup... not just a canned ots tune that dumps a certain amount of fuel at a certain RPM. With the stock mag tune, I was in the 14's or so most of the time, unless I went passed 70% throttle... and there is only what, 86% available (don't quote me on that, someone else knows the right percentage). So the mag tune wouldn't dump enough fuel unless I was near WOT. Any other driving in boost, moderate acceleration, etc, would be running 14-15 AFR because PE hadn't kicked in yet.

All of this to say that the mag tune will work, but it's not the best option... especially if you plan to get a tune down the road anyway. Might as well do it right from the beginning! I hear @snivilous knows how to tune these trucks pretty well, might be worth working with him to tune the stock mag setup - and then I'm sure he would work with you again to retune once you install larger injectors and the smaller pulley. No reason you can't had the installer flash the mag tune, then drive home and reflash with sniv's tune - should you go that route.

@carn_dogg Definitely appreciate the insight. I'm fully installed and running the stock Mag tune currently. Probably going to reach out to @snivilous to coordinate what all will be needed to facilitate a tune. Definitely need to get the wideband O2 and I'm assuming a MPVI3 and credits to start. I'm across the bay on the VA side of the Chesapeake BTW.

Yea man for sure. Wideband is priority if you ask me. Along with boost gauge, can do separate or 2in1 gauge. Then yes mpvi and 4 credits. So $600 there.

Oh nice, not too far from me! I’m on the eastern shore but close to the bay bridge. You down by Norfolk area?

Northern VA now, but I grew up down in Newport News. We visit Cape Charles by boat though. Love the Eastern shore... sadly have to be closer to DC for work.

On the Wideband..... as a favor @snivilous I guess I need to buy that Innovate PSB-1 off you after all. Shoot me a message and we can work out the details. You know.... for the safety of my truck ;-)

@carn_dogg how has the 76mm pulley been treating you so far? Still confident in the reliability of the motor or is it a stretch running that much boost at sea level? And did you upgrade your fuel pump from the Mag supplied one when you went to the 76mm pulley and the 650cc injectors?

Sent this to the machine shop today: custom TB adapter for @reywcms Whipple

This one required a little creativity since Rey wanted to run a 103mm GM throttle body, and that diameter ends up overlapping where the bolt heads for the supercharger interface are. To fix that I sunk the bolt heads deeper into the spacer where there's clearance because it necks down for the Whipple slightly. An insert plate then seals where the Whipple bolts go so the transition can remain smooth and keep a normal O-ring seal with the throttle body. And as with all my throttle body adapters there's a gentle transition where the airflow enters straight and exits straight with a radiused change to attempt to keep the airflow as laminar as possible compared to a straight cone shape.

Awesome! So much nicer than my bastardized adapter stacking!
    Great skills!

I'll let you know what the quote for Rey's spacer is if you want to upgrade :D Or there's always the 94mm TB eventually. I sent the CAD for that to my buddy to 3D print, I ALMOST sent it to the machine shop but was like ehhhh might be a bit premature and that's a lot of waiting for what will inevitably need some tweaking.

Finally got @reywcms 5" intake tube made! $100 of materials between the aluminum and the MAF bung, and a couple hours cutting/prepping/welding. It actually turned out really nice I think, I wasn't sure how I was gonna go about the 40deg angle initially, and decided to do 5deg cuts on the band saw which was the perfect idea. Each cut is 5deg, so the main body and the initial stub where the hose clamps to only have a single 5deg cut, and then the middle pizza pie sections have a 5deg cut in each face for 10deg total. That ends up being an even number of cuts total to reach 40deg, and since each cut is the same angle it means each cross section is the same so everything lines up exactly. The seams inside the tube are extremely flush considering I didn't post process them at all.

I then drilled a hole for the crank vent hose, as well as four holes and then used the jig saw to make a slot for the MAF and cleaned those up and welded the bungs on which went great! Finally I welded 4x pretty blobby welds on the ends of the tube to act as a lip for the hose clamps to grab onto since I don't have a way to flare the ends.

Rey sent me his old tube for reference and we talked about what features and changes he wanted to incorporate. Pretty simple overall since this doesn't include the intake box, but cool to be able to make a custom component like this and get an excuse to weld aluminum which is one of my favorites!
