Maybe torch the living shit out of it?

Take a crowbar and hammer at this joint, after grinding out that blobby weld? It'll leave the framerail cap in-place, so you can work at removing that after, then clean up the frame, treat it, and re-spray.

If I'm not mistaken though, I think this is where the bed support sits on top of the framerail, and where separation needs to happen.

Ahh, ya'll are trying to disassemble the bed crossmember that's part of the bed. That's part of the bed, not the frame. Yeah, what @shifty` said. Stop tuna canning the bed and separate the bed crossmember from where it sits on the frame. And no torching please, that's right on top of the gas tank.....

Your bed is now one with my yard. Part of the ecosystem. There are worms living in the wheel wells.

Mine won't reach that far. That's probably 30" off the ground. We would have to set the bottle jack on something firm. Looking around my garage to see what I have. I bet your bed would bend before that rust-weld gave way.

As @shifty` pointed out, I think there's a weld weld there by the frame to bed bolt. I would check the rest of them as well. Cut the weld, then lift the bed. It's not rusted together so much that it won't come apart.

I can't imagine they welded the frame to the bed. It's corrosion. The Toyota dealer also sprayed his frame as part of the recall and that shit is peeling off in layers. In think they got sloppy with application.

Was the bed bolt broken on the mount with the weld?

that looks great. how are you liking the ride with these now that a few months have gone by? I'm torn between spending 1,100 on a product that everyone says is better, especially if you go offroading a lot, and these. I just got a truck camper similar to yours put on the back of my truck.

I can throw some bolts back in the bed and head your way after work. I think we're gonna have to grind that weld first before we make any headway with the jack. When the yard tried to lift it, it pinched back towards the cab so it's on there strong.

That's what I said already

Yeah, that spot is clearly welded, and I think @KNABORES nailed the reason. Bed bolt snapped. The hack-around was to weld the bed support to the frame. And that's why it's such an ugly ass blob of a weld, they had to do some hand/arm gymnastics to get to that spot, and probably welded blind.

I swear to God your truck has seen some shit. If it could talk, the stories would be wild. Between this, the deer strikes and driving through wet cement, I'm not sure how many lives it has left. We're gonna give it one more today hopefully.

Things I’ve done to my truck in the past 6 months. Aisin timing belt kit, done about two months ago. Aisin fan clutch, new radiator. Eibach shocks on front set at 1.5 lift, truck sits perfectly level, 5100’s on the rear. Brand new Falken all terrain tires, new center support bearing, new greasable u joints, (spicer brand). Outer tie rods, off-road sway bar links steering rack booths( moog brand), no issues. Kicker speakers out front, double din stereo with Apple car play and android auto, O2 sensor (bank 1 sensor 1). New windshield, new battery. I also did valve cover gaskets and spark plugs about 1.5 year ago. Everything has been done by me except the timing belt job. Texas truck, has no rust just dirty from driving on dusty roads a few times.

I used a 1/8" thick rubber mat over my diy tailgate panel which is easy to clean, durable and provides traction. Looks great man!

    What material is that panel?

rubber is probably the best option. Something that wont hold moisture.
