Do you think a 17x8.5, +25 offset, 35X12.50r17 will rub the sway bar on the factory TRD lift?
I can’t seem to find this setup anywhere…

See if you can find people with the same offset and tire size in other diameters. I'd hazard to guess you would rub.

Another issue people have with 17s is that some wheels don't have clearance for the calipers. Or if they do, you need to be aware of wheel weight placement.

    Got ya.
I’ve looked around a while and couldn’t find the exact setup. My 17s are on order and I’m aware of the wheel weight placement. Thanks again for that’s!
As long as the weights are far inside I don’t think it should be an issue.

Hauled a scion tc yesterday. Definitely need stiffer springs if you do this often.

First picture parked on an incline. Seems to make it squat significantly compared to a flatter ground.

Too much tongue weight. Next time, back the car onto the trailer.

I was thinking about that but they were adamant about loading it forward facing for some reason.

Not a heavy car anyway, but more weight ahead of the axles generally isn't good.

I’ve used those auto haulers so many times without issue however never on a 3rd gen Tundra. That trailer is an excellent vehicle hauler.

You can’t park the vehicle any other way aside from how that picture shows since the tire straps wouldn’t reach and wedge against the front section.

My local dealer had these two with 6" lifts 37's. Asking $88.5k each, ouch.

Jeez that looks excessive for something not that heavy. Makes me nervous about pulling my toy hauler, which is one of the reasons for going from Taco to tundra, hopefully the weight dist hitch helps. Haven't towed my trailer yet with the lift and before the lift I only moved it around the house once. I thought about air bags since I've used them on other trucks. I wonder if it's just your tongue weight making it look worse.

Does anyone know in this thread if you have the fog lights removed by the dealer with this lift installed, if they disable the fog lights or can you just plug them back in?

If the kit is factory installed it won't even come with fog lights. If you have the dealer install the lift during or after purchase then it depends on the dealer and you just have to ask. My dealer left them in per my request and I just signed something saying I acknowledge the laws in my state that my fogs are for offroad only. Other dealers have just unplugged them so you can plug them back in or maybe it doesn't even matter in your state. It saves them time from having to pull off the whole grill and bumper anyway.

Did you end up doing this? Are you happy? Do you have the red or black axles? Thinking about doing the same and adding OME 2866 springs to the rear. Also plan on adding NITO 275/65/20 tires to stock Off-Road 20" wheels.

I have the shocks and a set of OEM front tundra springs I got on eBay for$60 shipped. I am waiting to get them powder coated red. I did install the rears. I am really looking forward to getting the front shocks put on. My 33" e rated tires are heavier than stock and the stock black shocks can't offer enough dampening. The TRD lift kit shocks are basically Toyota tuned Bilstein 5100's that offer up to 2" of lift using the factory suspension components. I have the black axels. From what I understand, 2.5"-3" of lift is where the upgraded axels are needed. An alignment is required.

Thanks for the write up. I’ve been on the fence for this little mod. How you like it, any difference how it drives? Any smother over bumps. I recommend the Dr.KDSS for the rear. I felt a significant difference in smoothness and suspension geometry. I have a 2/1 or ft on mine.

For folks that live in DC metro area, I recently have the Koons Tyson Toyota installed the OEM TRD lift kit on my 2024 Tundra Limited (Jan 2). I called few other Toyota dealers in the area, and Koons Tyson was the cheapest at least in my area. Part cost was $2850 + tax and installed labor $2200 + $165 alignment. I retained all the old parts. Fog light is intact. They did not remove the air-dam either. They installed sway bar over the TRD skid plate; I removed the TRD skid plate and bought a front skid plate that covers the sway bar from Talons Garage. Tire and rim are stock TRD rim & 265/60R20. The ride was great, been 3K mile on it. On a highway 130 miles trip, average loss of MPG before and after lift is 0.4mpg.

When I had 35’s still it didn’t rub with my Method 703 17x8.5 +35 and a 3” front lift. So I think you’d be fine. My 37’s don’t rub but I have 1” spacers that make it about +12 or so

I don't notice a difference in the ride quality on the road, haven't been off road much. I do appreciate having my full steering range back since the turning radius is already pretty bad. I am quite interested in that Dr. KDSS bracket, I watched a video on it yesterday. I am contemplating stiffer springs for the rear so that I have a better stance when hauling the motorcycle and camping gear.

I have a rear spring report about my Toyota 3" lift kit installed at the dealership. When I got the lift kit originally installed, I believed that a spacer was added to the rear springs to provide a lift. Recently, I changed my rear Springs to OME2866 Coils (Pair) (240-300 Progressive).

After these were swapped, I was expecting to be told that the spacers had been removed, and that I would still be fairly level f/r (without the spacers) due to the 2866's added height. The shop however told me there were no spacers to remove, and the new shocks ended up giving me a 3" rear lift. My rear is now 1.5" higher than the front and I don't like the rake.

I took pics here of my previous rear springs, and my previous front coils. When I'm towing my trailer my truck is level, but otherwise the 2866 rears are clearly too high (see truck tape measurement pics).

I called Dobinsons and they asked me for some measurements. Currently my measurements are 26.5” hub to guard rear, and 24” hub to guard front. Rear is 1.5” taller. Dobinsons indicated that if I want to go completely level F/R with a 1" rear lift those springs are C59-835VR. If I want to go 2” in the rear, (reducing my height by 1”), the part is C59-841VR (2” of lift). This keeps the original rake.

Both of these are available in red. Because I tow and use my 6.5' bed for cargo I think I'll go with the C59-841V. I'll post pics. Thanks!

I’m torn, just picked up a new in box TRD lift kit. Got a hell of a deal on it. Trying to decide if I want to install or sell.
Will see if I can find someone to install and their pricing before I decide for sure.
    Dealer wanted $4k
My vin says the lift isn’t compatible though.
I have a 22 Limited crew cab standard bed hybrid. But the parts sites say no go.
    Any opinions?

I’m curious to hear about how the poor man’s version of this kit works out- I’ve been consider buying just the shocks & using like 5100s- what clip setting would just level factory stance w OEM springs?

I also have a crew max with 6.5 ft bed and trust me you'll appreciate the lift with that long wheelbase. Might as well install it since you already have the parts. Check with suspension or reputable independent shops for cost or do it yourself if you can. The warranty is the same either way after initial purchase.

I think the only reason it wouldn't be compatible is if you have the air suspension or the lowered trd sport suspension.

I do not have either. So far Toyota quoted $4k, independent shop quoted $2.2k

Still waiting to hear from another place.

still seems kinda high for not having to cut a crossmember much less doing a diff drop.

even if that kit took 9 hours to install (highly doubtful) average shop maybe 150 hour I mean do the math.

I’ve heard back from two other shops.
Shop A which I’ve never used before $800
Shop B which I know the guy $1000 plus alignment.
Looks like I’ll all in for around $2700!

    Cannot beat that!

    Now to figure out tires!
