Yeah. I'm gonna either spend the money to repair or buy an Alpine and never use Pioneer again.

Not getting a FRONT (2nd) camera to work.
I've tried two aftermarket cameras, and can't get any signal on the HU. I'm using the "2nd cam input" yellow RCA from the HU directly. I can toggle between the views, but the front is black- no signal. I think I'm just wiring it wrong? someone is saying "purple wire"

The Purple wire is the reverse trigger that would give the signal for the camera to turn on. I would have to look at the Maestro wiring diagram as I don't remember how it is wired.

If you are using a Maestro, it should be a purple with white stripe connected to a purple/white on the Pioneer harness.

Are your setting like this? Does you camera require power, and if so, is it powered?

Yup those were the settings, and the camera is wired for power. I am able to flip between the cameras, but the 2nd camera is just black.

Yes it appears (from a pic during installation) that the purple wires are hooked up on the wire harness.

It might be a bad ground on the camera -- it started working today.

I was about to say, it REALY should be working if you have it all setup correctly and verified the above.

I have mine all tested and camera setup, just need to mount it. How do you have your cam mounted?

Before I embarked on this past weekend's trip on Friday I downloaded and updated the firmware for the radio.

It's rather large so be patient (280MB).

Zero issues there with mine. However, it is now "skipping" sometimes (think scratched CD) then it'll restart itself. Sporadically. Anxious to see if it works better after this update.

I downloaded the update but it won't transfer over Bluetooth or wifi. I'll have to try it at home.

The process to transfer is a bit cumbersome. The radio and phone have to be on the same network (or at least in my case it did). I did it through the app.

Product update: over the past couple of months, I've noticed the bottom edge of the display has come loose. I'd been able to press it back in and get it to stick, but now it just stays loose. This is really annoying. Anyone else have this? No issues with sensitivity or function, but it seems like the screen may actually fall away in time.

I have not had this issue. I did have a Garmin GPS do that after it was about a year old. It ended up in the trash. I would contact Pioneer and see what they say about it. It's disappointing to see this quality or lack of because they been heavy into car audio for years.

The caravassist app is total shit. It won't connect no matter what I do. I'm going to have to do the USB method to update.
