That engine compartment looks like you have a super low mile truck, extra clean. How many miles?
Might want to serve an eviction notice to whoever set up camp on that cross member

Not only that, but maybe get a bore cam or flexible shaft camera to look above the gas tank, and under the intake manifold. That looks like a bird nest, but if it sat long enough to collect birds, there's a chance it also caught some rodents. Good eye, @BroHon

Mine too. Half of my vehicles over my lifetime have been some form of dark grey metallic. But man, did it suck while living in FL parking in uncovered lots. It isn't much better in GA. His truck is like the AC twin to @abcinv's low-mile DC. Both look gorgeous.

@cjmustang69 I had the same clear bras on my rear splash guards. I can give you some tips on cleaning that up whenever you're ready, I've got pics and tips around here somewhere. First order I'd be on if you drive at night is replacing those headlight housings with new CAPA certified units.

I saw the nest after I took photo. I’ll need to remove it - once I return home next week. The truck was purchased new by a 73 year old gentleman. He had a stroke in 2017 - passed away last December. It has been driven 14,000 miles since he had stroke. So it was driven - just limited miles the past 6-7 years. The truck has 92,900 miles on it currently.
Thank you for offer of tips cleaning up the rear splash guards. I will reach out to you.
Below is a photo of truck bed. My understanding is original owner never hauled or towed anything with this truck.

Looks great, again. You can still get OEM plastic drop-in liners for like $200. I'd clean up that rust with some Naval Jelly, then throw anti-sieze or grease on it before anything. I personally don't like spray-in liners because water wick-up can rust it front underneath.

(Ok, enough unsolicited advice. Just excited, the truck looks killer.)

    Great find
    That bed is stupid clean!!

You can also buy a couple of horse mats from TS. Make a cardboard layout of the bed then trace it onto the mats.

A straight edge and plenty of razor blades will do the trick.

    Edit to add pic -

Ignore the Ford stuff; just an idea of how the horse mat looks.
(this bed is so small one mat covers; there will be a seam in the Tundra).

Truck actually came with a rubber bed mat. I plan to use truck for local errands only - such as taking leaves, yard trimmings, etc…to landfill. I should be able to keep bed in current condition with the mat

Nowhere nearly as bad. It's a losing battle no matter how you slice it.

Leave it bare, gets scratched and dented, rusts.

Spray with bedliner, water can wick up from the bolts, does a great job of preventing scrapes it'll rust under the coating where you can't see it, bed can still get dented.

Install a drop-in liner, hurts your f'n knees, does a great job of preventing dents and scrapes, but will rub at the paint and you need to clean out under every other year so water doesn't sit under it.

I stick with drop-ins. Been in my truck for 18 years. Lemme find the latest pic and share. Ok, here you go: https://tnstatic.net/attachments/upload_2023-11-5_19-48-41-png.933421/

That's 18 years of having a liner installed and using the shit out of the truck. No rust.

I had the plastic liner on my first two trucks.
My second Taco had bedliner that was fucked up. I had to repair it.
I don't think I my T100 had a liner at all. I didn't own it long enough to remember lol.
On my current Tundras, one is bare the other is bedliner.
I need to find two of the plastic bed plug thingies for the one without a liner. PO removed em and theres big holes there

I don't own one myself, but I've known several people with them, and I think the bedrug is a good option.

I wish they'd knock out a couple thousand units for our trucks again. I'm sad they don't have any. I may ping them later this month and see if they'd consider a group buy on them.

I was looking at the DuraLiner for my "new" bed, mostly just to prevent random stuff from scratching/denting and make it easy to clean out/maintenance. Unless you've got a better recommendation? You mentioned "OEM Drop In", does Toyota still offer one? Ever since Toyota did their dumb redesign for the parts site I can't find anything as easily as before. Driving me nuts.

Yes, Toyota still sells one, blow-molded, for AC, DC, and RC. It's around $275 if memory serves and you can get it shipped free to your local dealership during any of the typical sales. It may or may not come with the Toyota embossed stuff, it may end up being a Pendaliner, or other brand. But they definitely still sell it. I was debating about buying a replacement for mine just to get Toyota OEM branded, under the guise that mine had a few pinholes here or there, but I never followed thru.

New here and just posting up a recent couple of pics of a pass my brother and I made it through. There were several washouts and we ended up having to use a sat phone to let our families know we'd be a bit late. Looking forward to putting a winch and high clearance bumper on this thing.
