Looks really clean and well installed. I love that blue stitching!!
I'm in the 757 area and so far have not found a shop that is competent enough that I would trust or an honesty priced. I had one small shop price me some insane amount for installation, looking at their work I wouldn't even trust them to replace my floor mats. It is really sad that the work ethic and pride is out the door. Just YouTubers pricing astronomical quotes for shit labor.

Yes, that oil was pretty used up at 10,000 miles. That was back when I was running experiments on how long oil would last. I was driving a lot of miles and having fun learning.

There is one other thing that we might want to think about with his very low iron and wear metal numbers.... Is it possible that his oil is not keeping the particles in suspension? I have a bunch of these UOIs and have never seen wear metals that low.... Look at the universal avg. in his report of 8 vs. his numbers of 2 and 6. That is impressively low! Or that oil is really good!

It is also possible that my decision to run M1 is not good?????

    2001 Dodge Caravan 3.3, 150k M1, 7,500 miles - Iron = 32, universal avg. 12
    2000 Toyota Tacoma 2.7, 105k M1, 10,000 miles - Iron = 36, universal avg. 10
    2008 Honda Fit 1.5, 25k M1, 5,000 miles - Iron = 11, universal avg. 8
    1999 Honda Oddy 3.5, 150k M1, 7,500 miles - Iron = 13, universal avg. 12

Whatever this forum told me to do

I believe it's Toyota build quality. not so much the oil. (i use Toyota oil filters)

Our '11 Lexus LS460L has VERY similar numbers.

point being...any oil is good enough. just keep it full.

These V8 engines are legendary. It very well could be that they just don't wear much at all.

Well, I won't say they were the cheapest - it cost me $900. With that said:

    1. I paid $900 for the kit itself.
    2. They did a fantastic job.
    3. They did other stuff they didn't have to do - e.g., washed my truck, vacuumed it, installed my Seat Jackers for no additional fee.

Suffice to say that I'll absolutely use them again. :) If you're up for a drive, it's MVP Upholstery in Fredericksburg, VA.

    Seems so.

In the second picture, the bumper is shifted forward, making more clearance for the tire. Its pretty minor but it gives the space you need if you are making contact.

    Thankyou for these deets.

As a plain stock guy, I had no idea that helped with tire rub.

    I agree,
I have an 8" and I'm pretty sure I'm going to exchange mine here soon with a 6". I like the sound, but with the resonator it made it much quieter than I anticipated. I did try without the resonator and it was definitely louder but the drone drove me nuts. I definitely think the resonator acts like a silencer in a sense which could be why others have stated the 10" and 12" are too loud if they are running without them.

I had to take the front mud guard off on my '17 (rubbed on larger tires). Seems ok on the 2020 (different tires but same size).

I added the CB bumper shim and I still rubbed the front bumper. Had to do some heating and remolding to get extra clearance.

I missed the GB but had a local shop give me the same deal. My wait was longer because of the GB that I had just missed but ended up with tears in both sides that were tiny... obviously at first but they took care of it

Brought it to Dealer Service for oil change and check up rear brakes. They said rotors got glazed. Rotors resurfaced and new pads and simms installed.

I have the stainless 8" on mine and have it dumped just before the rear axle so no resonator. I hear it when I get into the skinny but it does not piss off my neighbors and I live in a retirement community LOL
As far as the drone the dogs do not like it when I get into the skinny because of the rumble I guess but there is one point (cannot remember the speed but it is lower than I normally drive) where you can hear the drone but it is in a short RPM range then disappears

I think I know exactly what you are talking about. Even with the resonator I can hear a distinct drone at a certain speed/RPM, I think maybe around 50-55MPH? It's not unpleasant, and it is in a narrow band, like you say.

When I get time, I may try running without the resonator. Or, maybe I'll just get used to the way it sounds now. :)

I run the 10” system with no resonator, for me the drone is noticeable around 2000 RPM or about 60 when cruising. The only time it’s noticeable is in traffic where the rpm jumps up and down. I don’t usually drive at that speed and there’s not much for traffic where I live so it’s pretty much a non issue. My truck sounds mostly like an old muscle car

I have an 8" without the resonator as well. It sounds great all the time. At about 1800 rpm there is a slight drone but it's not bad at all.
