ToyTec what would be excellent affordable shocks for a 2016 crew cab 1794 black shocks. Truck is mostly street driven thanks in advance

 

Be prepared to tell David if you are looking for "leveling out" look...or a true "lift", no lift, your budget..David will ask you anyways.

I was referring to the OEM spring, not OME. I guess the biggest difference most people will notice is the inch difference in lift?

 

Oh man. So much for not needing to lift my truck.

The biggest difference is going to be in the overall ride quality, the aftermarket coilover will come with a taller coil spring which will reflect the quality of ride only with travel of suspension.
Preloading Factory OEM springs will ultimately reflect in loss of travel since you are already pre loading the coil spring X amount.

@ToyTec Lifts will these settle over time and if so how much settling?

 

How do these compared to the Boss set?
Can these be a good match w boss rear shocks?
These have any more travel than the stock shocks and would UCA's benefit any?

 

How are these on the highway VS stock set up? Would I be loosing out on any ride comfort or is it all gravy great upgrade? Thanks. D

 

@ToyTec Lifts you need to put your SPC UCA's on sale to go with these 3" lift coilovers.. You cant get them aligned w/o them. So It just makes sense.

 

We have seen them settle right around the 3" mark, it's hard to pin point measurement due to each vehicle being a little bit different.

What is nice about these is that Eibach engineers amd Toytec engineers paired up tohelped design the boss shocks so these will be a nice comparison with when it comes to valving and zinc coated shock bodies. A main difference would be is that these coilovers are going to be a non adjustable 3" lift as a the boss coilovers are a full adjustable coilover along with a valved specific shock.

These shocks will help with the body roll along with great on road and off road manners. The shocks do offer a nice comfortable valving system to help keep things nice and stable for you and your truck.

A different drop is always a good peace of mind to have for only $30, it just helps decrease the angles of your cv axles so you are not pretty maturity wearing them out. Same thing when it comes to your upper control arms, 3" of lift in the front is right around the "grey area" with alignment specs with the factory uppers. It is a good recommendation to get them when installing.

At this moment in time we are unable to put the SPC uppers on sale, hints why we offer free shipping on them, we have seen however alot of people get into factory spec with the factory uppers just fine.

Anyone running these coilovers yet? Looking for some real world feedback.
Currently running bilsteins with a leveling spacer, stock rear. Truck sits perfectly level. Spacer looks to be 2" (was on the truck when I bought it).
I would like to maintain the current stance, thinking adjustable may be the best option, but always considering other routes.

 

Me too. Look like a great option I just hate going first.

 

Well now that I know I currently have a "3-1" leveling kit on my truck, consisting of a spacer up front and block in the rear, I am taking these a little more seriously. They would be a direct swap for my front, keeping the truck stance the same.

What sort of actual performance improvements would I be looking at with these compared to my current TRD coilovers with the top mount spacer?

 

What's nice about these is they are not only going to improve your ride quality over stock, but will give you the full amount of travel with a taller coil spring and a shock designed specifically for that spring giving it the range of travel without compromising your suspesnion components.
The spacer kit you have is forcing your whole assembly down, pretty much having the truck sitting at full "droop" all the time. There has been alot of problems with those kinds of lifts causing over extention of the factory coilover causing either the shock body and lower stem to separate and blow through the bottom of the body and or having the shock shafts and body separate.

These aren't adjustable unless you have a spring compressor stand. toytec already said for this price they're not going to change the height. You will probably more than likely also need UCA for these.

What's the load rating on those Springs

These springs are about a 640-660lb spring rating.

If you don't mind me asking what are the stock Toyota Springs rated at?

 

If I remember correctly they are a 590 - 600lb spring? Don't quote me on that though, it should be right around there.

They state the 613 spring to be 740 lb

Debating myself... Not sure if I go this route or the Boss kit route. This one is definitely more affordable $$$ but will that show in the performance compared to the Boss kit? That old expression you get what you pay for

 

Yep. It's also .5 inches higher out of the box than BOSS. Kind of worries me as 3in lift is right in that UCA upgrade sweet spot. In my basic brain, 2.5in lift works with stock UCA. So cheaper coil + UCAs ends up being more expensive than a BOSS setup with stock UCAs. All theory of course... As it seems to be debatable when UCA upgrade is needed.

 

Isn't the Boss kit set 3 inches as well upon receiving it? I have read that can go up to 3.5 inches but not sure if it's recommended. Regardless if I get these coilovers or the boss kit I plan on getting the SPC Uca's anyway for one just to play it safe and for two for the adjustability of the alignment. I was just quoted $1699 shipped for the Boss coilover kit, SPC Uca's and Toytec shackles. Not bad
