Yes, you get options and it shows on the gauge cluster. The only difference in our vehicles is I have the hybrid, don’t think that would make a difference. The only part that won’t work is the MTS/Crawl unless you get the locking diff and the wiring from what I have read here.
There are cheaper places to get it online than the dealer unless they price match, which mine does. Sparks Parts is one of them

for clarity - adding the switch to a platinum with PVM, the MTS drive modes, except crawl and MTS visuals work as if from factory - correct?

Confirmed on hybrid. At least the system says it's in the MTS modes.
For install, wedge tool to pop mode switch out, can reach tab on connector to release cable. No way I could reconnect, removed adjacent drive selector (popped out same as mode switch) and reached in to latch the cable.

so does this switch just providing visuals or does the MTS button actually works when in 4x4? Was wanting to add it on my 1794 hybrid

Just added the MTS switch in my 2023 Platinum Non-hybrid. Popped the switch out from the top with a plastic trim prybar and also popped out the 4wd switch for access to plug/unplug the switches. Took my time to make sure everything lined up perfectly so I didn’t bend any pins on the switches. MTS modes are displaying and all other functions (except DAC/Crawl) work properly.

So what exactly are we gaining here?

has anyone confirmed it’s actually doing anything besides lighting up the dash ?

Currently awaiting a 2024 Platinum. Didn’t go for a TRD package (main function will be towing). Still like the idea of adding MTS. Don’t really care about crawl control. Unless I’m missing something it doesn’t look like there’s a switch assembly that would have everything except DAC/crawl. If I swap out the switch assembly I’ll want everything to work or my OCD will go nuts lol. Anyways I’ll be hoping someone figures out how to get it all working.

New to the discussion, I have a 24 platinum gas only. Non TRD, non avs. Has any tried this option on the 24? And has anyone actually confirmed the sand, snow modes actually do something other than look cool on the dash? I'm trigger happy with buying parts that do things they're supposed to

I would read through the threat. I will tell you it does change traction control, making other settings. The gas pedal does feel different as well. But that could be a bias.

I read through the entire thread and nobody mentioned it actually working other than lights, as well as nobody I saw has tried it on the 24. Platform. So I'm curious if anything has been confirmed before I buy.

It seems like there was back and forth on whether it does anything to the actual drive or not. Some people say they think yes, some people say no. I wish we could get a solid answer.

The challenge is, how do you know if it's really working? I have the switch in a 1794, the dash gives all indications it's functioning. Real test is to take off road, compare traction - for instance when in snow can you spin the tires without traction control activation. I plan to do this, however, winter has not cooperated in my area. May have to wait for mud season.

Does the MTM work with just having the switch installed?

Been following this thread for about a month as I just bought a new 24 Platinum Tundra hybrid. I bought the MTS switch from a dealer and talking to the parts guy, he said to find out the different parts installed from a Platinum to a TRD Pro is to get both VIN numbers, I have no problem using mine, to a TRD Pro and look and see what’s the difference in parts between the two of them. If someone can find a friend or track down a VIN number to a gen 3 TRD Pro Tundra, we could get the answer there. Just what I was told.

Thanks for the info and I will see what I can do. I will go to my local dealership and try to convince the person to put in the time to look to see the difference. I will even throw them a 100 bucks to put the time in. Give me a week or so and I will report back on what they say.

So having all the part numbers, have you purchased and installed and everything works? Just curious

After doing some research this morning I've come to the conclusion this is not easily possible. As the OP mentioned, there are two TC Control Modules: 895330C091 (TRD Pro and OR packages) and 895330C101 (non-OR). Given the inconsistency in reports for those with a non-OR package, swapping the switch alone is not likely enough. MTS disables traction control and VSC in most if not all the MTS modes and no one has been able to confirm this actually happens. The only thing folks have reported is the MTS selection screen.

I was curious, though, if some TRD non-OR vehicles may have the OR TC module. As a I have a TRD Sport I took off some dash trims and checked the part number. No such luck - I have 895330C101

While its a few hundred dollars for the OR version of the TC module, it is not easy to get to. I attached a photo I took this morning. The control module we are interested in is highlighted in yellow. You would need to remove all the trim in that area and find a way to disassemble the entire metal frame of the dash to access that area, then remove all those other control modules before getting to the the one we are interested in. Apparently, the Gen 1 Tundras had the TC control module under the front passenger kick panel and was super easy to get to. Not our luck.

I applaud anyone else willing to experiment more with this but I'm no longer optimistic this is possible. Hope I'm wrong.

It’s certainly possible, we need someone with the time/money to work on it. Someone who doesn’t mind buying the locking diff and the others stuff and spending the time to make it happen :). Someone with a friend who works at Toyota.

I've been lurking for awhile but if I had this mts dial, id test it out on back roads/alley ways which are typically gravel. But I'd do all this while using something like torque pro app to monitor the engine/trans specs/performance in real time. Then compare with normal. Also for those who didn't know, you get different mts options if you are in 4h vs 4L. From my research it just manipulates the abs + power depending on terrain. Like on rocks you dont want any wheel slippage. Maybe someone can find a gravel lot/road and floor it in rock mode 4h with truck set at power rather eco. Then repeat that test without the mts on, you should see a difference immediately. Please let us know! Maybe someone can test drive a truck without a ride along and compare this at the same location as you just tested. The mud/sand mode should allow the most slippage because your tires slip while moving the vehicle. Maybe try mud mode on very loose gravel, see the results compared to abs/vsc off and in just standard 4h

Also if anyone has bought the upgraded dial with mts and want to sell it, dm me. My dealer wants $175 and I was trying to get a deal

I have been following this thread for months and am just looking for someone who has bought the new dial. Did just changing the dial give you access to the trial camera? The ones that show “under” the truck, and where your wheels are.
I had them with my 23 Tundra limited TRD Off-road but my wife and I are expecting our 4th kid in the next few months so I traded it out for a 23 Sequoia Platinum (before they began offering the Off-road package upgrade option)
Anyone who has made the dial change when able could you show images of your camera array. It would be greatly appreciated
