I replaced my grille, front bumper and fog lights after a run in with a deer. Went with the all-black grille and bumper.

So Ive had some Nilight (Amazon) lights that ive mounted in the "fog" position on the front of the truck. I havent bothered wiring them up for months and would like to finally tackle that. My truck did not come with fog lights stock but seems to have the wiring in place and a dummy switch in the dash.

    My understanding is:

    1. I need to wire the lights up to the stock wired connectors that are bunched up in the fog light area on the front of the truck.

    2. Add the proper relay to the Fuse box

    3. Add the OEM switch which I grabbed from the junkyard and replace with the "dummy" switch that is currently in the dash

Is this all that is needed to complete this project? Im also assuming that the "dummy" switch already has the necessary connector wired up and just need to replace with the actual OEM fog switch?

Oh and the relay part number I have is: 90987-02006 Denso Toyota Relay. Is this the correct relay?

    Appreciate all the help guys!

Yup, it’s a blast in the summer. I put it in storage place at the lake so we can pull the camper up there and just grab it for the weekend. Bring it home during the winter.

I really don't like the chrome grill on my 03. Was thinking of black next. Looks like that last grille is only $67 and like $17 shipping right now (although looks like it won't fit an 03).

If you want that style grill, yes. It would actually be easier/cheaper for you going from 00-02 to 03-06 than 03-06 to 00-02. Reason being that everything is the same, except the grill and the filler trim that goes under the headlights. Since the 00-02 filler trim is one long piece and the 03-06 is two small pieces, in theory, you could just cut yours into two smaller pieces to fit the taller 03-06 grill.
And of course if you don't want to cut it, just buy the two trim pieces and swap em out.

I've got an emblem if you need one. Just pay shipping. I'll measure it to be sure if you want it. I know it doesn't fit my 03-06 grill. But it's an authentic Toyota part. I assume the guy I bought the grill from ordered the one for the older grill by mistake.

Edit: looks like you've already got one. Offer stands for anyone interested.

Yeah, I'd like to do this to my truck, but with a white-out grille, w/chrome Toyota logo. But keep my '06 front bumper. Although I remember seeing one grill that looked different, maybe had two fatter chrome bars thru the center versus one single bar?

I have a pretty nice white non-limited (i.e. has chrome bars) '06 grille in the closet I never installed. I got it from @wandering_boy a couple years back thinking I was going to install it, but I abruptly changed directions when I finally pulled the trigger on my Methods.

Whats the consensus on cv nuts? Same threads, rockauto says the trackmotive are 40.8mm and oem are 34mm or whatever, but flanged? We reused bmf's oem nuts, but i'm about to go buy some sockets, so should i get both or just the oem size & reuse the nuts?

    IMG_5894.jpg

gotta take rockauto's measurements with a grain of salt. They claim 40.8, but they measure 40.64.

can reuse the oem cage if i reuse the oem nuts.

I mean I've put 50k miles on the truck since I changed the CVs, driven it off-road and across the desert. You'll be fine.
