Show me some leveled with Stock rims

Not the greatest picture, but you get the idea. No issues welding them to the plate. The spacers are quite thick, and so is the skid. Need a decent amount of heat. I wasn't concerned about esthetics related to the powder coat and decided to run a thick, full bead around the spacers to help prevent sheer under a hard hit. In reality you could probably get away with just a few tacks. Just beware, If you put too much heat into the skid you'll end up with de-lamination of the powder coat on the bottom side where the bolts go thru.

What lift and tires?

 

Ready Lift SST with 295-65-20 Toyo MT

 

If you want a Ready Lift SST lift to look like it is supposed to, You have to install the kit without the rear spacers and buy the ICON 3" spacers for the rear. The Ready Lift rear spacers are too short and seem to let the back sit lower than the front. Ready Lift has no options as far as spacers (I called them first). Just a heads up. Other trucks may be different, just wanted to let you know what I did.

35-12.50-20 WOULD NOT fit on my truck. Had to use the 295-65-20s and no scrubbing anywhere.

 

Damn that looks fantastic. What was the problem with the 12.5 wide? rubbing on the wheel well liner?

 

This is how close it is to the upper control arms with the 295s. Another inch would not work without running a spacer.

 

yea that is a damn tight fit. Did your UCA ever actually make contact or you just weren’t a big fan of how close they were?

BFG KO2 295/70/18. No spacer needed. No rubbing with stock everything. Pic is after Cornfed 1" front spacer.

 

Would this rub if you had mud flaps? Also, any pics from the side view to see how much they stick out of the fenders?

 

I can’t see how as that’s a 33.4” tire and my 34.5” tires were fine with oem mud flaps. Also mine are a little wider at 295mm

 

IMO, Those stock TRD OR rims look good on the lighter colored trucks, not darker. This looks good.

 

Please excuse my dumb questions, but I am new to making any mods to my trucks and really prefer to just keep my vehicles stock. This 1794 will be my third truck (first Toyota), but first time purchased new and plan to have it a long time. But this leveling thing has caught my interest and there are some really nice looking trucks here you guys have worked on.

My 1794 (still in allocation) has the Load-leveling Rear Height Control Air Suspension and Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) option. Can I get the same leveling effect using this without any mods? And curious to know how much "out of level" is the stock Tundra?

All trucks are "out of level" stock. It's called "rake" and all trucks come from the factory that way. It just means the rear of the truck sits higher than the front (the stink bug look). The reason is for towing/hauling. The idea is that once the bed/hitch is loaded down the truck sits level as opposed to starting out level and being nose high after loading (taking weight off the front tires is not good for handling in a loaded vehicle). The 3rd Gen Tundras have about 2.5" - 3" of rake from the factory. When people here say they have "leveled" the truck, they are referring to installing spacers at the top of the front shocks to lift the front a bit and take some or all of the rake out.

No, you can't get the same leveling effect (at least at speed) with the AVS rear suspension. The AVS system only controls the rear suspension height and the purpose is to auto-level the truck under load.

Yes, that is what caught my eye and why I had to ask. The trucks in this thread look really good leveled and with the stock wheels. I want to study further since hauling and towing for me will not occur often.

Nope. Plenty of room. I'd probably go 285/65/20 next time. I don't think I have any pictures down the side. I'd say the tires are inset about an inch from the flares. It would be about perfect with a one inch spacer. I'm about to list the truck for sale if anyone is interested. Need to go back to an HD.

 

do these leveling kits affect the angle of the front CV axles in a bad way?

 

I did the Cornfed 1” level (which is a 1/2” spacer) and the resulting CV angle is pretty mild.

 

so you didnt use anything in the rear? i like the pic of your truck. thats the look i want. just a slight rake.

 

Nothing in the rear. Only suspension changes are the Cornfed 1” spacer in the front. That’s the look I was after as well, slight rake. I didn’t want it completely level.
