Mine has had a plastic bed liner since we bought it. Dread pulling it and seeing what the paint underneath looks like. My Ferd came with a spray in liner and I threw a horse stall mat in the bed. Its grippy, covers the majority of the bed, nice and heavy, 3/4 inch thick and was 45 bucks. If I remove my DCs plastic liner, I'll probably just throw one of those in the bed.

I think the MH panel would be a hair short for a DC tailgate.

Did you consider the easy lift torsion bar for your tailgate? I can't recall if you got one or not.

Have one. Haven’t installed it yet. It’s the slam-on-open i got tired of.

I mean, I am pretty fit so lifting it isn’t the concern at all. Also hands are typically free when closing vs full when opening.

Also crap gets stuck in it, mostly yard waste. I need a trailer at some point. So much green invasive species growth in the back half of the lot.

I’ll do the torsion bar at some point but this MH panel is dead to me. I may try to cut it into a half piece and replace the OEM panel. But I’d really prefer something thinner.

I need to install my bushings too, hopefully I haven’t lost them. And weatherstripping for the shell door and windoor.

running Ethernet cable and doing direct led tube swap on fluorescents is first priority.

I still need to install my torsion bar. I've also got the mountain hatch thingy. It is significantly heavier with it on the tail gate.

I'd ditch mine for an aluminum plate tail gate cover any day. But I've never seen one for our trucks. They used to be a popular truck accessory around here when I was a kid. But mostly saw em on domestic trucks. Like this would be the tits:

Guys... For a quick temporary solution I've thought about replacing just that portion of the tailgate that you remove to access the handle with something completely flat and softer like the cutting board material and some sticky back carpet possibly. That would provide plenty of flat surface for knees to climb up and beers to sit on. @HBTundra

That torsen bar makes it significantly easier to drop as well. Pretty much guide it down with a finger and have the other arm free. I usually just drop it and catch it towards the bottom with one hand now. I should've showed you in person

Yes, this is what I told MH but they gave me the finger. Their approach is heavier and dumb.

Gotcha, it's a lot of work getting those rear ends off, plus seals and bearings that go with the axle shafts that can only be pressed in.

Ask your Ophthalmologist whether he thinks your time in the Navy as a welder could have caused or aggravated your eye condition. If yes ask him to provide you a “Nexus Letter” summarizing your condition and stating he believes “more likely than not your condition was caused or aggravated by your military service and therefore should be considered service connected for disability purposes.” The file a new claim at VA.gov.

Yea I'm still active, 23 years and counting. I'm pretty close to 100%VA, so I think lol. But I've never been around welding other than my few shop welders in my wrenching business. But I do have black floaters which Navy Optomology said is complete normal, SMH! but at least it's documented.

My med record is thicker than a 90s Yellow and White pages combined, I was "so bad off" they just had to med board me out, but only at mear 30% Navy side and only 70% VA..... To quote Bubbles, "something seems; fucky", like oh you don't need a pension... Oh 2 admirals request to keep you by name and should have ceased the med board then and there, yeah those rules dont apply today.... Oh a retired MCPON and a current Fleet Force Master Chief wrote in on your behalf, lol, nope, oh you have litteraly 23 more letters of keep and character.... See ya later HT1. FTN and FTG bro.

Dang yea it's sad, us Old sea Dogs get fucked. I've seen new kids now a days, perfect Fn fine! Get Med separated but they call it "Retired" I'm LIKE GTFO! HERE! They got 100% DOD rating and 100% VA! SMDH! I'm on a rant now! Lol. Any who. I'm deciding what's next on my rig: SCS wheels or fully built 3rd. Or VIP box tickets to Silvestone this year, haha! That's like 5K plus hotel and rental.

Factory fastener locations with longer lag screws.

it’s an extra layer on top of the already heavy tailgate and Oem access door.

add my bed liner as well and it’s just excessive. One quarter the weight by half as thick and replacing the Oem panel (which is super light but bends) would be perfect. Except for perhaps excessively large asses but then those asses should go to the gym.

Could be thicker on the inside in the middle if needed. With a groove for the latch rods. Lots of possibilities.

The one they make warps as it is.
