Gotta say, it’s packaged better than most anything I’ve ever seen and there is a spot in the directions for those who have a tow hitch. Also pretty cool they put a direct email line for a full refund in the event Amazon doesn’t give it to you. Won’t be able to install it until Thursday as it’s 29* and breezy here at the moment.

I wish I had done this, I'm going to uninstall mine this summer long enough to do the same. The knockoff I bought thinking it was OEM, was not quite painted red, and has only kinda faded more over time to a red I'm not entirely satisfied with. I'll probably coat it with POR15 myself though.

Wish I could say the same. I did paint all the hardware brackets and u-bolts it came with but the red paint on the bar itself is rusting and bubbling up under the powder coat in many places. Disappointing after only about 3 years.

I purchased this one and that price is in Canadian dollars. I could not justify the cost of a genuine one because they were about $500 here.
Two of the holes were not sized correctly, but I had a machine shop make a couple of bushings for me and it was still much cheaper than anything else I found.

The OEM one don’t have any foam, my one came missing the big extension sleeve. I have to go HD buy one of them all thread big long nut, cut it to length. But back then it only cost $252

Just scored one on Amazon warehouse for $135. Here's to hoping all the pieces are there. Glad to hear this one seems to be as stout as OEM.

Same link as the original post, but when you're on Amazon they have a used section below the section to buy it new. Unfortunately that was the only one, but if you check every so often they might have more.

Got it installed. About 45mins by myself. Pretty straight forward. Wasn’t a fan of how the instructions said to not put a washer in front of the spacer if you have a tow hitch but to do it if you don’t have one. They give you the hardware for both so I added the washer because the spacer is just slightly larger than the hole in the hitch.

Also, the instructions don’t say to use a flat washer on the u-bolts but they provide them and lock washers. Not sure there is enough u-bolt length for all. I didn’t realize it until I had torqued everything down so I’ll try and zip those on tomorrow. Not a big issue.

It doesn’t come with grease but it does say to grease the bushings so I put some Lucas red and tacky on them like I do everything else in the fleet.

Overall, easy install and solid parts. Nothing to indicate it’s cheap or low quality.

How instructions say to install links with a tow hitch.
    IMG_1613.jpg

How I did it. This is how they say to do it without a tow hitch.

    Installed.

Here are the instructions to the TRD bar. How do the instructions compare?

Damn near identical down to the font and layout. The TRD one is wordier. According to the TRD one, my driver side u bolt is on the wrong side of the brake bracket. Not sure what half an inch of difference would make? I’d go take pictures of the instructions of this one but it’s already in the trash down by the street and it’s cold and I’m comfy.

Decided to not be lazy and go grab the instructions.

And in rereading these, they also say the driver side bracket goes on the other side of the bracket. Must have glossed over that part. What I get for rushing.

I figured you would get curious and go out to get them. I'm thinking now you'll be crawling back under the truck and making an adjustment.

I definitely did the exact same thing myself, luckily it's not a difficult swap when you only need to do one side!

Well I need to go back and install the flat washers so MAW move the bracket half an inch.

Finally got to drive it a bit today. Definitely a noticeable improvement. Going to try and get it on some curves this weekend and see how much of a difference it makes.

I think you're taking lots of unknown risk for saving few $$$. Just go with reputable parts man and be done with it.

The knock off bar has been used and proven. Not really any risk with a rear sway bar.
