Hello all! First time post. Incredible forum and a wealth of knowledge.

    2006 dc 148,245miles

Ac light started blinking for a day or so, then completely quit all together. Nothing “turns on”
Unhooked blower and tested. Works fine. New htr relay. Thing was hell to get out. Fuses are all good.
When I’m driving, I can feel a small amount of air which is hot if switched to heat and vice versa.
At the time all this happened, I was putting new stereo in behind console and maybe hit something back there? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Imma keep it stock

Start by pulling the head unit and look for anything obvious that has been nicked, snagged, so on.

The blinking AC light is weird to me. I wonder what that's about. I would also check the resister since it's so easy to access. Easy thing to rule out.

A friend had an issue with his Mazda and all indications pointed towards the blower motor, which would have involved pulling the entire dash. It ended up being the resister.

Blinking A/C light has been attributed in the past to bad ground, specifically the ground between the A/C compressor and the throttle body. But I don't think that's the case here.

Check to be sure harness to center trim panel is properly connected. Also check the fuses marked heater, a/c and gauges. Then check the wiring around where you were working.

How would I check this ground. My A/C light would blink and the A/C would shut down at the end of the summer. I could sometimes go a week or two & the A/C worked great then the blinking light. Next drive A/C working again. Weird

See the 2nd reply in this thread: https://www.tundras.com/threads/a-c-blinking-light-over-pressurized-bad-ground.110897/

We've seen one or more people after timing belt change and/or compressor change either having that bolt installed with the wrong length bolt or not properly secured. Failing to ground at that spot is one of a couple ways you'll get the A/C light to blink.

I would check that bolt, and that ground plate specifically. That thread pretty much summarizes everything. Hope it helps!

Hey guys, just wanted to THANK YOU ALL for the info and help. Love this forum and tundra enthusiasts

I also wanted to apologize for the late response and follow up. My father passed away two days after post and have been, going through the process I guess. Or trying to. The title is in my name now for the truck. I will continue to drive her as long as she allows. lol
    Take care guys

Sorry for your loss, @Jabarton1880. Never a good time for something like that, but especially not when that close to the holidays.

Thought I would follow up. My blinking A/C light and intermittent A/C operation was due to the compressor ground wire not being attached after a shop did a timing belt change and valve cover gaskets. The ground wire was underneath the A/C compressor wiring connectors and sometimes made contact with the compressor to get enough ground to work about 50% of the time. With the weather starting to warm up I took a look and felt around under those plugs and found the ground wire unattached. I have grounded the wire to the compressor and hope this solves my problem.

I've previosuly had a blinking AC light on a different Toyota (not a Tundra) and it ended up being the AC fuse.
