Hi, I’m I little confused, what I do with the red wire that comes at the end of the fuse by the underdash relay?

@iHacker I am interested in purchasing one of your conversion harnesses. I have a 2015 Tundra Limited which does not have the white strip DRL, but just a single amber replaceable bulb which acts as both the DRL and turn signal. I've read through your installation instructions and am leaning toward the DRL full brightness version $110.00 because it appears to be plug and play. But in the instructions it states you have to disconnect some wires in the cabin to make the turn signals work properly. Did I misread or misunderstand this? Just want to make sure I'm not getting in over my head with this installation. Do you have this version of the harness available? What is the best way to place the order? Thanks!

 

If you don’t cut the wire you’re referencing you will have both the LED strip and the amber for DRL. No big deal - I ran mine that way for a few months before cutting the wire to kill the amber DRL.

 

As he said keeping the wire under dashboard untouched do not affect your turn signal and just keep your amber DRL, some people like that.

Just completed the install of my TRD Pro black headlights and fogs on my 2015 supercharged Tundra Limited. It took around 6 hrs. over a couple of days, but I took my time. I'd first like to extend a special thanks to @iHacker for putting out a first class quality PNP product with fast shipping and great instructions. Much appreciated! Should have done this a long time ago, because the stock halogens were terrible. I've attached the before and after beam patterns and a couple pics of the new lights. I am real pleased with the result. Again, thumbs up to @iHacker for his harness.

 

I have a 2016 SR5 that I want to put 2019 black OEM LEDs in. I'd rather have DRL on all the time than run through the firewall. I'm pretty sure I have single amber DRL but it does look like there is a light strip on the bottom. I've never seen it on in the two weeks I've owned the truck though.

What harness do I need? Also, any recommendations on where to get OEM LED lights?

 

Message @iHacker about a 1lowlife setup.
I didn't want the bright white LED strips for DRLs.

Ask him if your 2016 headlights are like my 2014, and it sounds like they are.
He can make you a plug-and-play adapter that keeps the amber DRL and turns on the upper and lower white strips on dim with the parking and headlights.

If your headlights look like this, there is no LED strip on the bottom.

Your SR5 truck have a fake DRL strip but isn’t working is just an empty line without any LEDs and is just for looking only not a working LED strip.

To get the LED strip on the new lights working as you describe I recommend using the Non dimming harness and you get constant power from the fuses box and the LED strip is switched with the ignition.


For the best place to buy you can check Toyota Parts online site they are offering a thanksgiving sale in some parts you select the dealer where you decide to buy, I just checked and selected a dealership not too far from me and the price is really a great deal

Question - I've upgraded to the OEM LED lights... is the drivers side headlight supposed to dim after about a minute? It’s bright when I first crank up and then it dims after about a minute. Here’s two pictures I made this morning in my garage. First picture shows when I crank and put in drive- both headlights are bright. Then second picture shows about a minute later that the drivers headlight dimmed about 50%.

I DMd ihacker, but wanted to see if anyone else had this issue before.

 

What brand of Aftermarket did you get?? I purchased a set from TYC about five months ago and the light output is worse that my Halogens. I have already replaced them under warranty once with no improvement

 

It looks like this pnp harness easily accommodates new LED headlight assembly packages but I only replaced the bulbs *meaning my directional bulbs are still the oem ones*. Is there a package here that someone can recommend that needs no further fuss or do I need to first buy additional LED directional bulbs or an entire LED headlight assembly?

I'm curious about your headlight set up. I like the idea of the amber light as DRL as it will match the DD SS3 fog light backlight. You think it's possible for @iHacker to do the harness so my DRL will be the same as your parking light? Thank you.
