He asked about the front. One on each corner of the truck.

And while we’re discussing bump stops, the rear ones are terrible too.

I have pictures posted in this thread of the bump stops I took off and the icons I put on, 4 total one per corner.

Truck looks great. Can you share the link of the lift kit?

did you take measurement before the install? What was the heigh difference previously? I have ~34 tires and my front is about 1” lower than the rear and the passenger side is about 0.25” higher than the driver side.

Did you do the installation yourself or had a shop install it?

my local 4wp store wants an arm and a leg for a 2/1 readylift kit and install

@NHKTundra - Did you get a chance to install the stiffer coils and did they solve the clacking issue for you? Thanks in advance for letting us know.

Retrax. Uptop AFS bed rack. Condor XL. Dobinson rear springs. BFG 35/12.5/r18. BD light bar and ditch lights. Prinsu roof rack. Diode dynamics fog upgrade.
yes definitely solved the issue. Dobinson also had me send my old coils back to them, guess they have never had an issue like this. They said coils are designed to touch each other at load and over bumps. And that they shouldn’t make noise. Their initial solution was for me to find rubber and wraps the coils.

I just decided to be definitive and take the hit and solve the issue myself. No sound, and gives me more room for added upgrades in future though.

    Newly installed TRD Lift.

    ***UPDATE TO BELOW***
First, the dealership cut the TRD Skid Plate and it looks great. Hardly noticeable. Second, the dealership installed 1" spacers to eliminate the rubbing. All around, very happy with how the truck is handling and eager to take it off road. Cheers.

    Pros:
    • Even with somewhat smaller tires (33.5" - 285/60R20/10 Toyo Open Country AT III), it looks great. The stance and profile look right now.
    • Mileage so far seems to have taken only a minor hit. I credit the slightly smaller tires.
    • Strong handling, even better than factory. I credit the improved hardware in the kit.
    Cons:
    • Working with the dealership on a fix for the TRD Skid Plate. I want it back on even if the sway bar is on the outside. I would probably prefer a cut to spacers.
    • Surprisingly, I'm getting rubbing on the sway bar even with the 33.5" tires when I crank the steering wheel in either direction. Working with the dealership here too.
    • I'll update the post this coming week after the dealership foreman takes another look.
    • Early, but getting up to highway speeds (70+) isn't as smooth as I remember with factory. A bit of a shimmy / bounce that definitely feels new.

Picking up my '24 Limited TRD OR next week and having Elka 2.5's set to 3/2 paired with 35/12.5/17 Geolander AT XD on Method 318's. Super stoked to see how it turns out. Seen a few out here with similar dimension setups and really like the look/stance

So I have a question that may be common knowledge but I want to be sure. Guess this thread works for it. Am I right by thinking the only difference between the regular front suspension vs. The TRD offroad vs. TRD sport are the struts? The sport sits 1/2 to 3/4 " lower than the standard for sure. . But does the offroad suspension sit higher than the normal suspension? Curious because I have analysis paralysis over leveling my sport. I feel like the 1/2" shims won't be enough but the 1.75 kits or whatever may be more than I like. So if the struts are the only difference, why not the standard struts with a 1/2" shim. Am I on to something or just stupid? Lol

Now that “Tinkerer’s Adventure” (YouTube channel) has disclosed the differences in the black, red, silver axles, has anyone seen or heard of anyone damaging a black axle due to lifting or wheeling?

Anyone else a little surprised that Bilstein hasn't released a set of 5100s for the 3rd Gen yet?

I was talking an acquaintance who was asking for lift recos on his 23 Tundra. I mentioned the 5100s as a great option for a flexible suspension lift on a budget. I just assumed, 3 years into the new model, that Bilstein would've come to market with something by now. I only realized I was wrong when I was trying to help him find P/Ns.

Given Bilstein's partnership with Toyota, I really figured they would quick to market. Especially, considering they make the front & rear suspension for the TRD OR package, so they have a shock design already that would be an engineering foundation for a 5100 design. :notsure:

Not looking for insider info or anything. Just found it odd and I was surprised.

Same for SPC UCAs. I would have thought they'd be available by now...went to order some last week and couldn't find a thing. I talked with one of their reps. Sounds like they've already assigned a part number and are still in the engineering phase.

Maybe they have some sort of Non-Compete agreement with them for producing the TRD ones for them. Not too uncommon to have one for things like this. Maybe one with a set period of time.

Awesome looking rig! I have the same spec, but in black.

How have things been since the install? I want to do the exact same, but am always worried about sacrificing the ride for the look. :)

It is interesting that they haven't come up with anything yet, and was it a lesson learned from when they introduced the Pro series years ago? My 4R Pro suspension ran good for many years and ride quality was great. I tried 3 different replacements for the Bilstiens and never found one that really compared to it.

I’ve posted on here before but posts get buried quickly and I saw a couple pages back questions around OME springs. I shifted from OME 2864 to 2866 and like the latter better for the progressive rate. I load up and unload my truck for off road. I also added the pan bar relocation by Dr KDSS and fit a 35” spare in the rear. The truck just looks right on 37’s.

I am trying to decide on installing the TRD lift myself or paying a certified dealer $2k for the labor but I have a question regarding the warranty coverage. I've done a ton of research, called multiple dealers, and read through this site but still left with many different answers on the warranty coverage. The most common answers are if the lift is factory installed or at time of purchase, it is included in the factory 3 yr warranty. If installed after purchase it's only 1 yr warranty on the lift parts. My dealer said only 1 yr if they do it but didn't know if I do it myself.

Here's info from Toyota's website but doesn't specify if parts need to be installed as part of vehicle purchase:Screenshot_20231217_085145_Chrome.jpg
    Screenshot_20231217_085211_Chrome.jpg
Link to above: https://www.toyota.com/racing/trd/Warranty#:~:text=TRD Parts are warranted for,by an authorized Toyota Dealer.

Does anyone have an official answer or experience on the warranty coverages when installed yourself after purchase vs dealer installed after purchase? (Or maybe it depends on the dealer)

Edit: I am aware if installed myself the dealer will still need to do alignment and sensor recalibration.

I pay the dealer. Especially if it’s a new truck of this era. Too many sensors that might or need to be reset or set that you can’t perform. Good luck.

Got the TRD lift installed yesterday on my 23 Platinum CM with 6.5' bed. I definitely think a lift is mandatory with the CM 6.5 bed. Got the parts on the Black Friday deal for $2140 otd but had to pick up from a dealer 3 hrs away. Had a closer dealer, 2 hrs away, do the labor for $2009 otd. Total cost $4149.

I did have an issue after getting home with one of the new rear brake lines leaking. Had to loosen then retighten the nut to reseat the flare and it seems fine now. Hopefully don't have to drive 4 hrs to the dealer and back again. Prolly need to bleed the brakes again to be safe.

I couldn't agree more with the lift on the 6.5 bed. I've got to get mine done sometime soon. I had found a dealer that had a returned TRD Lift that was going to sell and install for $3500, and I didn't pull the trigger right away, and when I called back an hour later, it was already sold... Stupid decision on my part.

Had a 23 SR5 that got totaled and upgraded to a 23 platinum long bed. Freak accident resulting in hitting a stopped car going 50. It actually still runs and drives like this. Wife and I got beat up but lived without any major injuries. Very thankful for Toyota engineering. Pictures attached. Figured you guys would want to see.

On the new truck I'm about to order either a 3/2 or 2/1 IMS from Dobinsons with total chaos UCA. Seems like the 2/1 is less of a headache without requiring extended sway bar links, panhard rod, bump stops, and no need for silver or red axles. My main goal is to clear 35x12.5x20 with stock rims and no rubbing. Looks like the TRD kits include a few items like tie rod ends that aren't included in many other kits. Thoughts on that? I drive mostly highway in FL and keep about 150 lbs in the bed of tools and gear. I off-road a few times a year for back country hunting trips. Overall I'm leaning towards the 3/2 but am concerned about pushing the black CV and overall geometry, droop, etc.

Wow glad y'all were okay after the crash. I've seen pretty impressive results from crashed tundras, as sad as it is to see.

New truck looks good, I love the long bed it just looks like a full size truck should. You're right about the TRD lift, it really does come with a lot of parts that regular lifts don't. Definitely feels very personalized which it obviously is. That's why I went with the TRD kit plus it being certified for TSS in case any issues come up under warranty with how computerized these things are. I think if you can get the parts for $2500ish that's not bad considering it comes with way more than aftermarket kits. I also like how it doesn't feel like a traditional truck lift that's too tall and always has quirks you end up dealing with.
