Just read through the install manual - they recommend inspecting and replacing spark plugs every 10k miles. Anybody doing that? That seems a little excessive...

That DT dyno is from back in 2008 or 2009… I don’t think there was much in the way of tuning available back then. Just the TRD Supercharger flash at the dealer… anyone else remember?

 

I can pnly comment that VFTuner wasn't available then. What about BullyDog?

Check the parts bags make sure everything’s there according to the install manual. We had a missing fitting on the old man’s according to the shop.

Not sure if that’s true or not but doesn’t hurt to confirm before the install. I didn’t have any issues on parts outside of making certain items work with my trucks setup. I’ll send your pulley out tomorrow!

 

Awesome thanks! Yeah I assume my bearings are fine as only have about 30K on my non supercharged *yet* truck. I purchased shims from nitro and I'm not re gearing at this time since all I have are 33" tires. I sourced a new gasket for the diff and will fab up some angle iron to mount the diff to while I torque down everything and check backlash before I stab it back in. Or that's the thought process.

 

Bullydog was 2015 IIRC, but 99% sure it wasn’t before 2013.

When I helped a buddy install my Auburn at 80k mikes, he was able to reuse the original bearings AND shims. He said they sometimes have issues getting the bearings off the old carrier, but mine looked almost new at 80k. I was surprised. He was almost as surprised that the original shims worked correctly for setup. That was almost 120k miles ago and no issues.

When I get the Grip pro installed, I will prolly replace the bearings just because.

Damn you got 50k on the Harrop already? I’m curious who has the most miles on their Harrop, as they’ve been out the 2nd longest. Knock on wood it’s the only brand I’ve not seen a reported failed coupler on yet. Im curious if the coupler change is as easy as I think it should be.

 

I have 30k on mine too, but they are press on bearings.

 

86k miles on truck, I installed it at 25k miles

Nice! Add it to the list. Even adding a shorter belt with that heavier spring and arm is good peace of mind.

 

Maybe not an issue here, but the Tacos ended up doing a group buy on an upgraded tensioner stud due to several members snapping theirs after belt tensioner mods and whatnot.

I re-used my bearings at 60k. I got 110k on them now with the Auburn. Although Auburn didn't last...bearings still going strong!

 

I have a tool to remove them, planning on reusing those, I thought you were talking about replacing the wheel bearings on the axle itself. Cary on!

 

Needing some help with installing AEM Wideband gauge on Cravenspeed mount. Did the plastic bezel around the gauge have to be modified? Seems like it has to be modified. Any insight would be great.

No, but I thought about it too. I didn't like how the gauges sat so close. I'm now playing with this setup, and will probably glam it up with hiding the threaded bolts behind some sort of black sleeve. Or just paint it.

 

Good deal. How did the gauge itself mount to the inside of the pod? I may be missing something easy

 

I haven't gotten that far yet, as of now they're just sitting in there... but, it's a tight enough fit that they stay. I'm not really sure how I'm going to secure them in there. Part of me is thinking glue, or make-up some mechanical clamp using the studs in the back.

 

Just get yourself some nylon spacers. I don’t remember where I got these, or if I also needed longer bolts with them but it did the trick.

 

Most hardware stores have the spacers in the specialty fastener area.

 

I didn’t mod mine and they’ve held fine. Just added spacers like mentioned

 

Yeah, couldn't find any at my store for whatever reason. anyhow, these are good ideas. was also thinking about 3d printing some. That would also allow for some extra strength/stability to be added.
