Well how 'bout that. I can be found frolicking in The Meadows of CR, haha.

Ooooooh, I see. In my excitement to cash-in my 2¢, I probably missed some details you had already shared!

Ok Harrop 77.5mm guys, what's the peak boost you're seeing so far? Ordering a mini boost gauge and it has factory configurable overboost alarm. Planning to set at 11, I think 9-9.5 is about max?

seriously, This 77.5mm pulley is nasty

You better have a kryptonite engine block and unobtanium pistons to run that 70mm

at sea level, that would be some code red shit

Who installed the SC? Did they have any issues with the mounting bolts that attach the SC to the heads? Reason I ask is that I had one bolt wasn't threading properly, so it wasn't snug and preventing a seal around the runners. You should be able to check by spraying cleaner around the bolt heads that mount the SC to the heads. I had to remove my SC and chase the threads before I was able to get the bolts to fully bottom out and firmly attach the SC.

    semi S/C related:

I changed the oil & it was remarkably darker this time.

    same Kirkland 5w-30
    same 5k miles
    different pulley

usually light brown, this time noticeably dark brown.

    what would cause that?

or, if you prefer, just tell me to shut up & drive it.

My question is are you having good results with the Costco oil because I'm happy to save money if you are.

    i have great results

    I had it tested twice.

a few posts up I compared it to amsoil

    interestingly similar

it’s the best 5k oil on the market

I suppose you already know this, but Blackstone could probably tell you. I'm guessing you didn't save a sample this time though. Maybe next?

I did manage to make 8.8lbs of boost, which is the most I’d ever seen! Haha

I’d like to thank Sniv for the wonderful pulley, that helped make this possible :)

Oh boy! Do share the details of the scenario that caused your beans to be spilled. How much lift in the front, and do you have a diff drop kit? Boosted 4x4 launch I take it? Lol

Haha, he absolutely did! We both had a good laugh.

    • 6” Rough Country lift - not sure how much of a diff drop there is but not much.
    • 1 OEM CV axle
    • 1 aftermarket CV axle, supposedly for lifted trucks (shop that did my regear threw it in).
    • 1x 230lb gorilla with a heavy foot

So! You were correct - 4x4 boosted launch, traction nannies turned off, and in tow/haul mode.
It was going great right up until it didn’t. The road wasn’t as flat as I thought, and a slight deviation caused the FL wheel to hop. I heard the little ‘boom’ and knew exactly what it was. Funny thing was, prior to launching I had told my dad I had doubts about how long the aftermarket CV axle would last, and sure enough, it let go

Question regarding Radium PCV Catch Can.
I have had it on for approx 10k miles. Haven’t had any noticeable amount of oil blow by in the canister. There is a very small amount in it (mostly just oil on sides ), but not enough to pour out. Hoses are correctly installed to the correct ports/fittings. Just wondering if I was missing something or if my motor doesn’t have much blow by.

I was in your exact same boat. 10K and no discernible amount in the cans. I went over my plumbing several times and it was setup correctly. I finally disassembled the lid and found that the design is flawed - it's almost impossible for the can to catch anything. All the blow-by bypasses the can and is immediately sucked up through the return port. I have since left the can(s) torn apart and they are now capturing the blow-by. I plan to make a post showing what I found in the teardown so that others can avoid making the mistake of buying the Radium Catch Cans (I have the dual catch can kit, so even more wasted $$$).

That’s odd. Mine catches tons of nasty oil gunk.

Has switching to 5w30 reduced your oil consumption you had going?
