As in the LED was pointing up? The bulbs (at least all the ones I've used) are clockable to point the LED wherever you want.

I know they are clockable and in this picture they do need clocked but they are not upside down if that is what you are saying. This is not a great picture but I drew a picture to try and explain the problem. Behold! My artism  I feel like I’m pulling you all off point right now

Your picture illustration shows the bulb with the LED pointing up, which is upside down.

Can't be... It only threads in one way. And after my fixing it looks like this... Reasonably certain I got it right
    [IMG]

I think I am confusing you all because you have the h4 version which is dual bulb. Yours has the high beam on the bottom totally exposed.

There is a set screw on the bulb that you loosen, rotate the bulb in relation to the base, then tighten the set screw. The bulb's base will only mount into the housing one way, but the but the bulb itself is capable of adjustment in relation to the base.

Mine were not a set screw it was a collar that i had to put pressure on to jump 'teeth', but, I'm with you. I clocked the bulbs in my brother's truck. One more try here. That is is high beam on your bulb... the low beam is on the top side inside the shield. Mine does not have the full shield which is the problem I'm trying to point out. This does not apply to your bulb because it cannot leak light upwards like mine.

We're talking about different bulbs here. H11 only has one element. It's not a dual element bulb like h4 which has a low beam element and a separate high beam element. Your H11 bulb is not like out h4 bulbs. Exposed element on h4 goes toward the bottom as knabores mentioned. Peace.

I recently ditched my full retrofits for new smoked housings and COlight mini projectors. Compared to full retrofits, they're decent, but obviously not as grand. But they do offer much better value IMO. Anyone considering the mini projectors, I'd def recommend.

Filmed a little comparison of my different lights now that it’s getting dark so much earlier. I used the exposure lock on my iPhone to make it somewhat objective. Links for all the lights shown are all listed in my build thread:

Afyer driving moms qx80 to vidor & back i was impressed by the projectors on flat roads, but the sharp cut-off was unnerving on hills. If my truck had a cutoof like that i'd want it up near the center rearview height. Her car even has a knob to adjust the height, and as soon as i got to the hills, i cranked it all the way up & it wasnt enough. Not ideal for reading dark road signs in unfamiliar areas, or spotting deer.

How's the performance of the high beam on these mini projectors? I figure it's not great as the high beam element is facing down not reflecting off the main headlight bowl like stock h4 bulbs would be. Thanks.

It's not great. Especially since my fog lights turn off when the high beams turn on, it feels way darker. Ditch lights handle bright duty.

Anybody have issues with the bulb flickering slightly when the truck is off? Just installed these and currently the bulb is doing some small flickering when the truck and light switch is off.

No post-shutdown flickering here. Haven't seen anyone else complaining about that one either.

That pic to Imgur is showing as broken - all you need to do to link videos from Imgur is copy/paste the URL from the address bar into your post body and the forum will automatically grab and embed the video.

Crazy thought here, but ... is it both lights or just one?

If it's only one light, what happens if you swap the ballast/driver between driver and passenger side? That's the box thingy that attaches between the back of the bulb and the factory harness.

I'm thinking if it's only on one side, the ballast/driver may be defective, and holding a charge internally (bad circuit, leaky cap, similar) and slowly releasing it. Technically there should be no power in the line after turning off the truck, the power to energize that bulb has to be coming from somewhere.

It's quite possible that driver is bad. I just can't recall if it's attached to the bulb itself. If it is, you'll need to contact the company directly to replace the bulb. Actually ... I'd reach out to them about it already. Although it looks like BraveWAY has discontinued the bulb, maybe they (or if you bought the CO version) or CO are still supporting it.

It's both sides that have the issue. I got the CoLight version from their website so Im hoping they can help me out with it. Im also able to fully turn on the lights when the truck is off and key is not in the ignition as well now. Im really hoping the resistor fixes the issue, really not trying to get new headlight housings after ripping out the reflectors on mine I just got.

That's not a problem with the bulbs, that's a problem with your switch or circuit. Somewhere you're getting enough voltage in the circuit to energize the lights (which takes VERY little energy with an LED). If you unplug the light and put a voltmeter across the terminals on the wiring harness side (not the bulb side) you should see some voltage or voltage spikes. Could be a bad switch, or if there's a relay in the circuit it could be bad, or you have some wires somewhere that are passing voltage to your headlight circuit. Or you've got something beaming your truck with energy... any chance you're under high voltage power lines? (I say the last one somewhat in jest, but it is a possibility)

Honestly, when I reached out to BraveWAY via Amazon, they offered to send them to me for free. To reach them, I went to "Your orders", searched for Braveway to find the order, then clicked the Order Details button.

    upload_2023-12-14_18-9-22.png
From there, I was able to click the 'Ask a product question' button (or maybe the get product support button?) and talk to them directly. When I told them others had issues with flickering and I thought I might need resistors for my year/make/model (I gave them that info), they made the offer to send, just sent some more info/pics. I got the idea from some product feedback another person left.

Old-ish thread, but I'm just now digging into lighting. I haven't driven my Tundra much after dark since buying it this spring, but when I did, I noticed the headlights have already been upgraded, and I'm a bit worried they were upgraded without enough thought.

The light is very dispersed, lighting too high up on road signs, and while there is a change when I turn on the brights, it's a pretty slight change. I'm afraid I'm one of those jerks blinding everyone. Some of this will come down to adjustment I'm sure, but I'm still considering different headlights based on what I've been reading here. Either Katanas or the CO lights.

One thing I don't see in any of these threads is how the dust boot fits the upgraded bulbs. I see a couple photos that look like there's a good seal, but the boot in those photos looks very different than mine. This is how mine sit.

    IMG_6504.jpg
    IMG_6503.jpg

Not sealed at all. So my question is, if I buy these
    IMG_0227.jpg

    these

    IMG_0226.jpg

    or these

    IMG_0225.jpg

will they be the same and not allow my dust boot over the end? Or are they built differently so that my rubber dust boot will actually seal? I've tried getting the boot over mine and it won't go. At least not without tearing, which kinda destroys any protection they'd provide.

I may or may not upgrade my housings, but before I spend any money I'm curious what people have run into with these particular bulbs, since I found them all referenced on this site, when it comes to the dust/weather boot.
