FS: 3 switch panel insert plate

Has anyone used this harness on a 20 or 21.
I reached out to 12Volt and they stated that it wouldn’t, I guess I answered my own question but I’m just curious if anyone has used it since it’s 57” vs 44” for the Accessorides version that cuts it very close.

 

First page says it works up to 21

 

I’ve acquire all the parts I need to effect a 1st rate job installing the FARC, wiring, and camera, but still need the switch plate from @abomb60. It seems he’s been off-site for a while. I’ve tried to PM him, but no luck. Does anyone have an idea how to get on the list to source this awesome product? I’d really prefer to have the finished job look like a factory installation. Many thanks.

 

He had 2 different styles, which one are you trying to source???

One had exposed screw holes such as this...



The other style had hidden screws (attached from underneath) like this one...

When I get back from this work trip, I’ve been meaning to fire up my printer and run one on the textured bed (face down). If it comes out how I want it to, I might run a few extras.

I have an extra one w/screw holes visible, but it sounds like someone may have a concealed one for you (or be able to print one)...

I agree w/you though the concealed look is much cleaner, so if we can round one of those up for you I think you'd be happier!!!!

The textured bed matches the interior quite well. Helps hide the layer lines as well. I don't think any post print work is required when using the textured bed.

 

This switch is for the seat heater control/modulation….correct? Has anyone installed this switch in the switchplate? I’m really liking the simplification of switch positioning of the idea, but would like to hear from someone who has actually done the installation.

 

I have! I just used a file and made the opening larger to accommodate. I then did some gloss black Rustoleum coats on it, and it looks nice.

It really does work excellently for the heated seats arrangement. The only catch is this: The switch itself is pretty long, and because of where things sit underneath the switch panel, you need to trim away some hidden plastic that sits unseen around the shifter column. It wasn't difficult to do, I just grabbed some pliers and pulled the plastic away and used tin snips to remove it; easy, but you do have to do it, or the switch won't slide down all the way.

 

When you get a minute, can you post a photo of what the finished product looks like? Installed in here truck? Much appreciated.

It's part of the kit from Metra I picked up from Metra over a year ago, let me see if I can dig up a link for you. It was $80 for everything not including the fuse tap I already had on hand, and took me a Saturday to remove the two front seats one at a time, remove the seat covers, snip off the hog rings, stick on the heating pads, reinstall the upholstery covers, run the wiring around center console, and bolt the seats back in. I didn't bother with new hog rings, no different can be felt in the seat anyway. But I have cloth - leather might be different and may need them. I've heard zipties can be used if you don't feel like buying hog ring pliers for one job, I didn't!

Metra InstallBay IBHS3 was the model - I see them on Ebay here for around $80 right now, or you can throw extra money at CarID here but honestly I wouldn't because CarID's no better than your average Ebay store.

 

I may have missed it if anyone has already asked this, but do the Katzkin seat heater switches fit in this?

 

Yes they do. I Had two blanks in mine and that’s what they installed in.
