@e30cabrio it does state pump relay not install in engine bay. I used a waterproof relay and ran wires in a loom. Wires can be ran through grommet on passenger side. Do you use Innovate or AEM? You should be able to use the afr gauge 5 volt trigger wire for a set lean afr to give full flow. Pump could be located by passenger side by radiator. Tank by airbox. I didnt see measurements for tank in user manual. Will look online when I get a chance.

Edit: I just saw their tank, 5l size, and appears to be sized for trunk mounting. I was going by the AEM tank size. Do you have an area in back for tank and pump mounting? I saw you got the aem kit for the BMW. The Aquamist is more advanced than AEM.
Are you pulling the SC and having nozzles for each intake port? Or a 2 nozzle setup?

Are you guys spraying/planning to spray water meth before the supercharger?

I have an Innovate PSB-1, I think the spray needs to be as close to the throttle body as possible unless you are spraying directly into individual combustion chambers (I'm not up for that level of complexity) lol

Ok. I wasn't sure if you were doing all intake ports on SC. Seen it done with NOS.
Before TB close to and no more than 6 inches away. Are you using the FAV, second nozzle setup or single?

Before the TB. I noticed even with the 70/30 mix it richened my afr by .4 lower. It should help clean oil off the IC brick too.

Is the water meth eating the rotor coating a myth, or is it only a concern if you run a high % of meth? Was thinking even just spraying distilled water would give cooler IATs but with no change to AFR or risk to the rotor coating.

A 50/50 mix won't eat the coating. Before the TB it is atomized according to Snow. It's when spraying before a turbo where it can eat the turbine blade edges.
You can also spray 100% distilled water for lower IAT's.

Out of curiosity, does anybody besides Snow have any corroborating data or recommendations? I don’t have a good idea one way or another but am interested in the concept. The few guys I know running water methanol were all on diesel trucks trying to beat the dyno (including a BullyDog sponsored show truck). Some used them for towing but most didn’t keep the truck more than a few years until the latest and greatest oil burner came out to one-up the competition. So longevity or long term affects wee not really a consideration for them.

This guy was running 100% methanol and claims his coating was stripped off, but who knows what other factors there were regarding the missing coating. He was also a frequent drag racer apparently with his tundra. I’ve seen nothing but mixed opinions on the matter.

Found this on one of the LS forums...

I've been running a 50/50 mixture for 22k miles and so far no issues. I actually emailed Harrop about methanol injection and this is what Michael Hewitt, Business Development Manager at Harrop said:

"The formal answer to your question is the supercharger is “designed” to move air not an air/fuel mixture. If the event you ran methanol through the s/c and it failed the warranty would be your responsibility. That said, I have known a number of customers over the years that have run an air/fuel mixture through the blower without issue. You should be fine, but in the event a bearing or seal failed due to the meth injection, be mindful it’s your responsibility for repair/replacement."

@blenton I looked for the Saab study that Snow quoted but didn't see it. Know the army used it in ww2 but the planes didn't last long enough to see effects.

Cool. Thanks for the references. Looks like I’ll be doing some homework. I recall it being used in WWII but you’re right - those vehicles didn’t last long enough to see any long term effects.

I’ve ran water meth and nitrous pre blower for along time on cobras and lightnings and haven’t had coating issues.

I don't think most of us would run 100% methanol. I'm good with 70/30 or even 50/50 but would have to tune for the larger dose.

@e30cabrio are you running the stillen box or mag? Anything mounted up by passenger headlight between radiator and washer tank? I'll look up some pics you posted too.

@e30cabrio I believe you can fit the pump on the fender wall by your arb air compressor. It's where I have mine, same pump by aquatec. To keep system out of your interior you could possibly fab a mount for tank by right side of radiator. Once you get the kit see about tank placement. I see your not using the vacuum or ccv intake ports so that opens up some options to mount nozzle.

Finally got a serial adapter to USB for my shitty logging laptop just need to setup external logging for boost/AF. Just patiently waiting for SCOL or anyone to get on some pulleys. Get it installed, run some light logs and see where it puts trims/AF and Inj-dc. Need to make sure the stock FFV pump can keep up!
