Spent a couple hours bashing out the damage from August's storm, pretty sure it's a permanent fix. Unfortunately she just isn't worth getting a new hood and fender.
Good enuff to protect the metal here in MI. Still love this Jalopy. If things go to plan she will be the plow/farm work truck when we move to our rural/acreage, and there will be a decent FGT in the garage.

Yeah I saw the roll on you did... and it's been looking better  like you sanded/buffed it out?
I used Rustolium oil based satin and a brush... and a heat gun, it was maybe 50 out.

I loaded mine up with stuff. That's about it. I needed to work in the yard. I'm hoping that comes tomorrow. Right now, gotta wake up, roll out to meet a (maybe future member?) to hand off wheels and struts, then come back, take the youngest to a recital, leave from the recital to get a cap, then hopefully mow the yard, and maybe have time for a beer on the porch. Won't get any time to enjoy the 71° weather though. Similar to today.

You mean another new hood and fender? That's already a new hood and fender. Unfortunately, whoever shot it decided to throw 2-stage paint on a single stage painted truck and it sticks out like a sore thumb at the angles you shot.

I've seen a couple of parts trucks around here with the right OEM white parts to get you fixed up! Too bad you're up in the BM! You ever roll down this way?

Will confirm tomorrow evening if all pans out.

Actually, the dude I'm buying that cap from is having trouble selling his 2001 AC V8 4WD Limited with wood grain and other nice options. Bought from Cramer Toyota in Venice FL, so southern truck. Says it has a blown rear end, otherwise fine. 186k miles. I'll check it out while there. He's under $4,500 right now and it's been listed for ~2wks with no sale. But also lost the title (it's a hassle to get here in GA, honestly) so he'll only give a bill of sale with purchase.

If it was 2WD I'd be tempted (to buy and lower).

If it wasn't 4WD, I have zero doubts I could find a suitable rear-end and maybe even do some fun stuff to it.

But honestly, I wouldn't want to sit there and try and figure out wtf the gearing is on it so I can match front and rear, then expect a damn yard to figure the same out.

And I wouldn't want to drive away w/o being able to test 4WD was working either.

Didn't mow with it but I did fix my mower troubles. A couple of days ago. Twas the battery. Lowe's battery was like 5yrs old. I put a charger on it and when I grabbed it off the table one-handed, I lost my grip and dropped that sumbich right into concrete floor on the posts. Fucked them up real good. Lol. I threw a load tester on it and it failed miserably. Swung by Walmart and grabbed another one. Fires right up now.

And sanded and coated my completely roached out eBay special headlights. They came out great. Saved me from having to buy a new set. And only took about 40min start to finish using the 3M headlight restoration kit.

Not the best pic, but they are clear. No more yellow.

As far as I can tell there is prob a 1" inflection in the frame where whatever entered the drivers wheel well and SLAMMED into the cab mount. Cab is tweaked. It doesn't dog-track, but you can see its fucked up.
They left the UCA and LCA but replaced the entire spindle/caliper/rotor... so now I have a 13WL on drivers, and 13WE on passengers... Fuckin bastards. Brake job surprise...
I'll say from a MI perspective the frame isn't that bad, crusty over most of it, no huge holes. But its not right, and after doing LCAs/LBJ/UBJ/links... Doing driveway caster/camber was interesting... struggled to get positive caster on drivers side.
I didn't even consider taking it to a shop to have it laughed off the lift/device, but it drives straight, and no crazy tire wear, and it's what I've got for now. I don't do a lot of driving.
The whole front end has been tampered with.... No condenser, No curved reinforcement under bumper, no skid plate, one horn, it didn't even have fucking fender liners. What you see hanging in the picture is cut from a huge black tree pots, they actually work great, for free.
I swear this truck is Crackies long lost cousin (still have to make it through all that thread...) This thing put me through 8mo of hell before I got it to stop stalling @ stop lights, NO CODES. Turned out to be the ECM... which looked pristine.
The rockers were rusting the fk out and I rebuilt them with steel studs from HomeSleepo and a shitload of rust converter, polyurethane caulk and rivets, and self tappers, roofing sealant, and herculiner. They actually did pretty good through the first winter 0 rust.
    Ill dig up some pics.

This is stuff you do on a truck that isn't worth going all in on, with no budget, and to make it half ass better.
And in some instances, to make it so it wont kill you. It aint perdy, but it's paid for:rofl::thumbsup:

Ratchet strap around the snorkel neck and attached to the drivers grab handle on the A pillar. Pulled the snorkel in and took the heat gun to the snorkel base until there was slack on the strap.

Well I didn’t mow today but I did weld up a firewood rack and picked up a quarter cord. That’ll get me thru winter in Texas. I did however take a casual peek at my shocks up front. And realized the shock bodies don’t look so hot. Also with the bed not even full to the brim with firewood, the old leaf springs were hurtin. Like totally on the overload with a reverse curve. Not sure if these suspension issues are par for the course in a 185k truck, but the suspension may need to jump up the list.
