I believe 3rd Gen Tundras are lug-centric. I do have hub-centric rings as well, but it didn't help with the vibration.

Guys..I have scanned this thread for a year now since owning my 22 TRD Pro, and im still undecided on the size I want, torn between the

295/70r18 or 305s in the Toyo open country, with stock suspension no lift or anything. I don't plan on adding a lift as I want it to fit in my garage, its winter 6 months of the year here in Canada, lots of snow in my province as well. Wanted your guys opinion as I honestly cant decide. The look of the 35s definitely fill out the truck better, but I don't want any rub at any lockout or anything without removing anything either as I cant legally take off my mudflaps, also dont want to worry too much about the speedo, (that part isnt a a big deal). I like the ride of the OEM feel as well, and the acceleration of course, a smaller tire of course would be a little lighter as well. Definitely pros and cons to both. Having snow here most the time, the 295s might be better? Sorry completely new to this!

I have seen some TRD Pros on this thread with 295s on and it still looks alot better than stock. Thoughts?

I have Toyos in 295 on 20” wheels, they are more like 34” tall but do look proper.

These tires are 10 ply so they are heavier and this will probably be felt in the mileage.

if you use the OE wheels, you will probably be fine but an aftermarket wheel will usually have an offset that pushes wheels out. This will be where the rubbing will occur.

Thanks! I plan to use my OEM wheels as I love the look. Sorry I forgot to mention that, but yeah pretty much the whole truck will be stock except tire size. What Load did you go with?

    Mine are LT295/60/R20. 126/123S 10ply

I think they weigh 60lbs and my wheels weigh 27lbs.

I have all 5 wheels the same.

Nitto Recon Grapplers come in an SL Load range for size 295/70/18. Only 53 lbs, by far the lightest tire in that size.

Those recon grapplers are probably your best bet. General also makes the grabber atx in a 275/70/18 in a SL. That's the tire on the F150 tremor. Not much bigger than stock, just a much better quality tire than the factory falkens

I had these Falkens on a previous truck for about 5 days before I hit a deer. Totaled truck so moved them to this new Tundra. Love the look but man they ride rough. I can feel every pebble I hit. Considering pulling off and going to a 35x12.5 D rated tire. Anybody make that move that can say how much better ride was?

When I put my Toyos on, the ride was a bit rough. Then I put 1” westcott spacers in the rear not expecting much other than a bit of rake. The rear suspension came alive and the ride has transformed. I can’t explain it but it is so much better now.

My guess is that the rear shocks are able to work now.

Was running 36 but actually ran them down to 32 this am. I know some will roast me for that low. It did help a bit though.

Mine are around 34 cold. Likely drop lower now that temps have dropped. I’ve only ever ran E load tires on all my trucks and I find these in an 18” at least, ride smoother than my last set of ko2’s but they were 20”

I've noticed that discount tire only lists the 10 ply on their site, but tire rack and others show the SL tire. There is also a Goodyear in a 275/70/18 that is a LR C, it's the tire being put on the new Silverado zr2. It's much more aggressive looking compared to the general.

A sneak peak, if you will. Gotta get ‘em cleaned up from after install. Haven’t seen this specific model on a truck before, so I took a gamble.

295s are perfect. No modifications other than tint and tires. The ride is great. I did notice some road noise however it isn’t bad at all. Also, since they’re 70 vs 65, it had a tad to the height but again, nothing too bad.

I can’t remember if I’ve said it on this thread before but if they’re always coming out looking dirty I found a solution that works for me detailing cars years ago. Give them a good cleaning and put some tire shine on. After an hour (or next day if you want) pressure wash the tire shine off. I’ve found it returns it to that new tire look without the shininess.
