I hope not . 22-23 sold well over 200 000 Tundras but engine failure is not in Toyotas vocabulary. Definitely concerned.

Ouch. 32.7k vs 9.1k, why so much that is 1/2 the cost of the truck (in most cases). Did more than just the motor fail that caused other issues?

the engines are blowing up to parts failure (I believe the bearing) has nothing to do with maintenance

There's also a risk that something may not go right with these upgraded engines, or the shop installing it.

I decided against replacing engine on my ram 1500 to avoid the risk or replacement not go right (plenty of stories on forums), and then having to throw more good money after bad... But now I have a 22 Tundra which isn't that great either :(

You should only need a couple of adapters, electronic harnesses and engine mounts to be ready to go. Shouldn't cost more than a couple of $1000 to get it installed and sorted. :)

What does a brand new 3UR-FE engine go for? Maybe it is time for a real engine swap?

I would do it myself. Now there are a few state laws one might have to follow. Emissions could get tricky in some places.

For you kind sir, look around. Very popular swaps.

Not sure on that one. Hell, a used one is 5-7k with some miles on it.

Nah I’m not a reflexive NA V8 leg humper.

I like the idea of a forced induction 6 cylinder, but I have this silly notion they should actually be reliable.

You got my mind wondering.

So Toyota doesn't to crate engines that I could find. So long blocks are 8300-8600.00 and then you would need to buy all accessories like intake, pulleys, power steering, etc. this would add another couple grand I'm sure.

Another thing would be looking into adapting any engine to the 10 speed transmission.
