Cruise Control on 04-06 DC are not illuminated, only the Steering Pad. The 04-06 DC Cruise only has 2 conductors and somewhat surprised your cruise works since there's no pin 5 conductor !

Yeah the airbag side clockspring connector that came with my buttons didn't include the pigtail for the cc. I cut off the pigtail from my existing wiring and spliced it into the new connector. I used a piece of the 4 wires they included, snipped off about 6 inches from the end and popped it into the connector to make the connection to my cc switch. Works just as before.

The yellow wire here in pin 5 goes to the white wire on my cc connector. I spliced the black together with the black wire and Bob's your uncle or something like that. Lol.

thanks I was on the fence about them but with the new tires I think they look really good. I was going to buy aftermarket wheels but I don’t see a need anymore

Falkin wildpeaks are good tires. Subaru uses them OEM on the wilderness trim levels and they hold up really well.

Dead stock with oem 16" starfish wheels. We'll see how long that lasts. :) Topper of unknown origin.
Day 2 hauling Dad's tired old (1986 JD 855) tractor from WI to ID:

Fergus Falls, MN to Lewistown, MT, about 687 miles. I-94 across ND and then the beautiful two-lane 200 across MT.

MPG settled at about 8.7 across 3 1/2 tanks. I was expecting better but see that this is typical after reading some trailer towing posts here.

Trans oil temp was consistently below 160, coolant temps below 200 with a few spikes above that. Ambient temps ranged from 40 to the high 70s.

    Somewhere in MT:
    IMG_4579.jpg

Earlier in the day I weighed it using the Cat Scales Weigh My Truck app.
    - The front axle is well below the 3,500 lb limit, probably because of the tongue weight.
    - The rear axle is below the limit of 3,760 lbs. Whew, I've got a crap-ton of heavy things in the bed and thought I might be over on this one.
    - The trailer axle plus about 500 lbs tongue weight is well below the 7,100 lb trailer towing limit for the Tundra. It's also below the 7K gvwr of the trailer.
    - The total weight is below the max total weight allowed of 12,600 lbs.

I think those are the correct limits for a 4.7 with the tow package.
    IMG_4594.jpg

I was glad to see weights in the ballpark, I tend to underestimate these things.

The trailer was easy to pull and the Tundra settled into a comfortable pace at 65-70 mph, a few stretches at 75 when the conditions were level and smooth.

That's what I did to my Tundra today.

You’ll likely need a new door. The bed could be reskinned on that side, or body repair could be attempted. The hours spent on body repair end up negating the cost of reskinning.

Honestly once you add in paint to go with the reskin, it’s almost more logical just to buy a matching door shell from a salvage yard and DIY swap. I’ve never seen a reskin with paint less than $500 and that was Maaco. And chances of matching paint at that age/fade will be far better with a truck of same year with factory paint than a shop. You’ll always be able to tell it’s repainted.

Yeah, replace the door. But reskin the bed. Or if you’re lucky and the donor vehicle has a good bed and door, swap them both. Most body shops will reskin that bedside and replace or reskin the door assembly. And then body work in that back cab corner. Respray them all and blend adjacent panels.

Well I went ahead and put the dash back together for now. Waiting on the switch and wires that assasin sent me. This way I'll be able to use the truck if I need to. One thing I noticed just now is that I have 2 wires in my top clockspring connector that don't appear to have corresponding wires coming out of the bottom connector. I wonder if that has something to do with how weird my buttons are functioning.

The top yellow wire and green wire don't have corresponding wires coming out of the bottom connector.

    20231008_095700.jpg
    20231008_095638.jpg

In the bottom pic my wire colors will probably not match anyone else except the right three wires in the lower spots. Those top 3 and the red wire are the 4 wires that were included with my Chinesium buttons so I used them to make the 4 additional wire connections that my bottom plug was missing originally.

Buy a trailer, drag it out to sandy eggo & throw a cali pricetag on it. That'll more than pay for the trailer & gas.

I feel like there aren't a lot of words in this post but there is definitely a lot to unpack here.

What all was done at the body shop? Gonna post up some pics?

He's gonna sell it huh, seems like it's been super reliable and dependable for all these years and now it's just up on the chopping block? I remember a few years ago saying that you'd never let that thing go.

Definitely more to unpack than the 22 words in that post.

I don't have pics since it went in, but basically a front end refresh due to deer damage. I only saw it for a few seconds as I was skootching through town. I'll post em when I have em.

He wants something easier to get in/out of for his worn out body, and easier on gas. It has been reliable, and has never missed a beat except when I did those goofy projectors for my tiny alternator. That was my fault. Not the trucks.

A few years ago seems like such a long time ago, but it wasn't. I don't have the means to keep it, nor the need. I've got Crackie. He's got more :muscleflexing:, and more capabilities regardless.

He, and I hate it, but it's where we are at. Honestly, I've pushed him enough to selling it to someone here if possible, so I can buy it back later, maybe. Like @daveeasa situation maybe. Dunno.

I've made my peace with a lot of things lately, Nick. I've had a good run with it, and it's still got plenty more to choogle on for another 360k miles. I'm at peace with it. I'm not conflicted about it like I was with listing Crackie.

Is it manual? Rust free? Leak free? Do you know what he's planning on asking for it yet? 2wd or 4wd?

Whoever buys it better slap on a brand new Magnuson TVS1320 supercharger though and report back, for science of course.
