The JBL system powers ALL the speakers off the amp.
The non-JBL (with amp) powers the DASH speakers off the HU and the rest off the amp.

A bit further on the install, and I could pull the power for the rear doors off the back of the HU and run wire to the doors, but that doesn’t seem worth the effort like @AZBoatHauler mentioned. I’ll just do the fronts and sub for now, then add another amp down the line for the sub and switch the rears to the 4channel.

 

Just an FYI, if you are using this Alpine RUX-H02 bluetooth volume knob, you have to "wake it up" (push / turn it) before turning on your Alpine head unit, otherwise it won't pair w/o going into system menu manually.

 

I still can't get mine to work consistently. I paired it before pairing my phone, and it still doesn't connect. I'm considering returning it...

 

Anyone have an F511 that they aren't going to use ?

 

Okay, 1 stereo installed, one to go. Kenwood for the Tundra. One question I have (@BiggHertz ) is what is the difference between the iDatalink ACC-HU-KEN1 and the iDatalink ACC-HU-KEN2? Or did I skim over the answer somewhere?

Different plugs and pin-outs. Not all kenwoods share the same harness.

For anyone using the Alpine knob and tired of forgetting to turn it on at system startup, I think I figured out a workaround. Since the knob uses a CR2032 for power, this adapter should work to power it up via usb, which only comes on when the radio is on. I ordered one (after checking to see if the site was legit - jury is still out there but used PayPal so meh) and will report back after I've had a chance to try it out.

won't you still have to turn the knob on? Doesn't it auto-power off after a certain time without active connection?

 

It turns on right away when you reinsert the battery, so in theory it should be up and ready to go on power-up.

 

good to know. Not having messed with one, I wasn't sure.

Kenwood 1037s installed last night

08 sequoia with JBL and maestro rr2

rear car won’t come on in reverse but if you hit camera button it shows up?

 

Make sure you enable “reverse interrupt” or something along those lines in the camera menu. I don’t remember exactly what the path is from my old Kenwood.

 

Interrupt is turned on. I guess I’ll call Crutchfield this afternoon

 

I’d say check your wiring then. Did you use the MRR to Kenwood harness or splice them yourself?

…right… but what about from the MRR harness to the Kenwood? Hard to help you troubleshoot if we don’t know wtf you have installed and how. Did you pick up the extra harness that is plug and play between the MRR harness and the Kenwood, or did you have to splice the Kenwood harness to the MRR?

issue is fixed

on some models you have to pull 12v reverse signal straight through by itself if you’re getting low voltage/no reverse signal and completely bypass the harness

attached are photos of the connector. The green wire is the reverse wire to tap into

Some vehicles will have all 3 wires. Some will only have 2,as mine did.
