I had one on a previous truck (2020 RAM 3500). The fit and finish weren't perfect, but it was good (I would give it a solid "B+"). I just ordered and installed one for my 2023 Tundra. I like the fact that you can reuse the rails (at least the two on the side - more on that in a minute). The fit and finish seem to be a bit better on this one over the RAM. I purchased it from @SantanaRealtruck at Real Trucks and had a GREAT experience - quick reply and fast shipping.

You will see from the pictures there are a couple issues to be mindful of on the BackFlip MX4. First, the two rubber bumpers on the top of the cover near the cab both came off within the first day. Second, you CAN NOT install the front rail tiedowns once you have the cover on. I should have (and will uninstall, add tiedowns to rail, reinstall) put the tiedowns on the front rail BEFORE installing the cover. I also zip tied the drain hose to the corner tie down still allowing it to be used. Hope this is helpful.

The MX4 has had issues with those bumpers coming off for the last few years. I've never had an issue with them until around 2021. Last MX4 I put on, I wound up using some 3m VHB tape to reattach and they held for a bit. I guess the new coating isn't adhesive friendly.

I thought those rubber bumpers were just used for shipping. After install I noticed one randomly sitting near the edge of the cover, felt its lack of adhesive on the bottom and ended up throwing it away. I didn’t notice either of them during install ‍♂️

My drain hoses are loose. I use the tiedowns too frequently, with ratchet straps, I'd probably pinch and tear the tubes. I like my mx4.

Very happy with the MX4 on my '19. My rubber baby buggy bumpers are still in place so far.

They are supposed to protect the top of the cover if you have it folded all the way up against the window. If you don't usually travel like that, you would never need them.

If these are the rubber bumpers you are talking about, they are for shipping and are not intended to remain after install.

    ^^^ This ^^^

The bumpers that rest on the cab are underneath, at the forward edge of the center section.

Then what protects the top of the cover when it is folded up against the back window? Maybe those bumpers? I don't think truck hero would have an attached piece of rubber when they could use more foam like they use for all other packaging.

Well dip me in shit 'n call me Stinky! :crapstorm::rofl:

    You're absolutely right.

I've never even noticed those. I was looking for something cocked at an angle like in the picture, not realizing that those came loose and moved... DUH!

    upload_2023-10-6_9-58-33.jpg

They're actually quite inconspicuous when running right along the panel edge.

The rubber bumpers on the top of the last panel don't really do anything. As you can see, the other panels don't even rest on them when folded up against the back window.

Looks good! I ordered the X4s that has the same rails as your MX4 that lower the cargo rails. I see that you have the lights in your bed. do you also have the 110v outlet in the back? I do and its higher than the lights so I was worried I would have to cut the cargo rails to make this work. I've thought about getting the Mx4 but I haven't seen any pics of what it looks like in the up position and also from a camera standpoint like what can you see and is most of it taken up by the MX4? I have the 6.5' bed so this is going to be interesting.

After I discovered one of my rubber bumpers had fallen off during shipping, I sent an email with a picture to support@bakindustries.com and they sent me a bag of four more.

I do have the 110v outlet. I haven't noticed if the rail gets in the way. Will have to look tomorrow.

My instructions said there was one special (shorter) rail clamp that is supposed to be used where the 110V outlet is, but all the clamps were the same, and they worked fine. No conflict with the outlet at all.

My review for the MX4 is don't drive straight into a 30+ MPH wind with the cover folded up. Kinda duh, I know. Felt solid before I drove off, but the cover wasn't having any of it. I made it six miles down the road and I pulled over thinking it was going to fly off like an OEM cover. The prop rod plate was clearly stressed but not cracked. At least one thumb screw holding the cover down was cracked, so I'll need a new hardware kit. I still need to crawl under the cover to make sure everything else is ok, but I didn't want to get soaked any more in the rain.
