OK, cool. Having run both as well, I don't think you are going to get away from the rebound behavior of a bump until you get to a hydro bump, just the nature of a rubber/foam bump, which you seem to have a good grasp on. Interested in your feedback, I blow up duro and supers every couple years on my 4runner, these are a cheaper alternative. Really I need a secondary shock . . .

Ha ha, changed the oil for the 1st time on my recently purchased 2021 TRD Pro and I had ordered the MotiveX kit to deal with the oil filter cartridge mess, but I underestimated the force of the oil that would come out of the pan when I pulled the plug. I was using a super shallow drain pan so it just bounced off the bottom of the pan and drenched the right tire, wheel, hub and then the oil wicked back along the pan and dropped another 1/2 quart all over the floor when it came out the other side of the skid plate. What a mess!!! LOL Especially since my garage floor is bare wood planks.

I've now ordered the fumoto drain plug, but I'll be using a bucket and something to block the oil from wicking back on the pan. I might even try the shop-vac trick to swap to the Fumoto before I drain the pan on the next oil change.

I had the same plug on my STI and loved it, as that car was a gusher, too!

You're right about a bucket - a 5 gallon bucket works better than a standard drain pan. And the MotivX kit is well worth the $$.

Love Fumoto drain valve, it does drain slower so I do that first thing, slide the hose over the hose nipple and no mess...Did you also get the funnel that screws in to the oil fill tube?? I got that after I spilled about 1/2 qt of oil under the intake from the oil overflow from between the funnel and the fill tube.

Yes, that is included in the MotivX kit. Definitely worth the money!

Drove to Southern California and back this weekend. 73-78mph, got 15mpg. Saw gas in Palm Springs area for $6.27 YIKES. Love me some Arizona gas for $4.05. Such a comfortable truck. Most likely taking it next weekend back there again vs the Highlander.

Looks good! Am I assuming correctly since yours is a 1794 that you lost RCTA and BSM when you installed that RC bumper? If so, is there now the orange triangle of doom on your dash, or can you simply turn off RCTA and BSM and you won’t get the triangle? I want an offroad bumper, but if that orange triangle pops up on my dash, it’ll drive my OCD nuts! :(

Yeah yeah. I live in mountains on a hillside and previous owners built a large detached garage, 100% wood construction. Garage is ground level at entrance and about 30ft off the ground towards the rear. Entire floor is 2x6's and no moisture barrier anywhere. I don't actually park any cars in there cause I question the stability even though it was seriously overbuilt. Also, instead of one big ass garage door, it's two very narrow rollup doors that I can barely squeeze a truck through. So it's a big shop and has motorcycles, mountain bikes, and lots of tools.

That is one of the oddest things I've heard of. I agree, I don't think I'd park a few tons of vehicles in that either.

Makes me think of some of the sketchy shit you see in Jerome AZ:

Check the build link in my signature.
In the 2018+ Instrument cluster settings, you can simply turn off BSM and RCTA. But if the CANBUS system doesn’t even see the radar units, it will automatically disable it.
The parking sonar runs through it’s own ECU and dedicated switch. So long as you don’t accidentally turn on the switch, you’ll never see the errors show up if you remove the sensors. Or simply unplug the switch and put something else in the blank so you can’t accidentally turn it on.

Yep lots of non permitted building happens up in the mountains. The area I live in was originally all vacation cabins for the rich folks of San Francisco in the 30's. Developed into a home community in the 40's. Very eclectic mix of homes as some did not survive the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake. Everything from original 700 sq ft homes to 6000 sq ft new homes from tear downs or rebuilds after the quake. Our house was built in 42.

But I get to come home every day and live in the redwood forest and only 10 minutes from town. It's how I can afford to own a home in one of the most expensive places to live in the country. I also get to have an acre of land and an outdoor deck bigger than the foot print of the house. We love it here.

Decided to add some screen protection to the instrument cluster, radio screen, and shift trim. Fairly easy, give a few days for it to dry off, and it’ll clear up.

I did end up with 2 small air bubbles to the far left, but you can’t really tell unless you shine a flashlight at it.
Besides, I’m not gonna look at it while driving. I don’t like scratches on my cluster, and with this screen protector it keeps it looking new. You can clean and dust off the cluster and it won’t scratch the film.
    IMG_2052.jpg
Due to the black shift trim, I was only able to apply the film covering the letter indicators. It would require taking out the outer trim to apply the film and I didn’t want to do that. It was a headache taking out the whole column in the first place.

Continued the process of relocating everything off of the bed rack onto somewhere else on the truck. Here are the chase lights. Luckily had an unoccupied run of 16awg going from under the hood up to the cab rack. Purchased the Teton Design 3 Shift Knob months ago (trucks been in storage for 3 years while I was overseas working), installed it the other day and it got real hot with the truck being in the sun, anyone else have this issue?

IIRC that knob is anodized aluminum...which will obviously get hot in the sun. But it should dissipate the heat fairly quickly, too.

Hey guys, switch back to a tundra and the oem USB port didn’t seem to charge my phone nearly as fast as my raptor would. So I went on a mission to figure out what I can do to change that.

well I found a solution. Type C ports from a toyota sienna, had to modify the notches on the port to make it fit, but it fit and works like a charm.
