It's in Englewood which is good if the truck spent its time here in Colorado. Should be no rust. Look at the Carfax and verify how many previous owners. Are there any service records? These 1st gen Tundras sold here in Denver are at the used highend price wise and are usually swooped up pretty fast.

 

The listing says they supposedly have the full service record but we will see. Yeah this one seems like one of the better out here so i wanna check it out quick. Thanks for the reply!

Not at all. Location. Supply and demand. Asking price isn't far off KKB. This is Denver. At the foot of some of the best high altitude 4 wheeling in the country. 4X4's are always in high demand. We have lots of public land here to play on, unlike Texas where most of it's private land.

 

Worth a lot more here in Denver.

 

Price is high for milage but @Black Wolf is spot on about Toyota pricing in CO. I flew to TN to buy and fly my current 2012 and couldv'e likely made a good chunk of change if i posted it for sale when i got home. It's worth a look. and crawl under it and look for goodness sake.

 

Depends on the level of body damage, if it hit the paint or a straight dent, how deep it is, etc. and most importantly if you would be able to live with knowing that’s there.

my 2 cents, go to check it out, take a bunch of pictures, send them to a local Paintless dent repair guy and ask for a quote. Use that number to lower the price if everything else about the truck is solid. If he says it’s worse then we think it is then move on to the next one.

 

I had the left bedside replaced on my 06 DC after a deer ran into me. Repair cost was about $3500 4 years ago.

I don't see a single picture of the frame in any of those pictures. Knowing that the frame and whether or not it's too badly rusted is the #1 killer of 1st gen Tundras, the fact there's zero pictures of the frame is absurd. Just looks like a stealership trying to sell the truck for 10-15% more than its worth.

That bed is pretty jacked up to boot, no clue what caused that damage. Rear impact?

@DerickAce3285 if they can't send you oodles of pictures of the frame for us to look at, before you go out there, there's something amiss.

The carfax just says accident reported in 2011, so it as bad enough to get reported but the owner didn’t bother to get it fixed with insurance all this time?

Also without getting the full history from Toyota, im not seeing any mention of a timing belt change being reported on the carfax. Prob the same time the serp belt got replaced since it’s in the same area. At least it looks like the dude got regular 5K oil changes done but no clue since the first half of its life is missing from the report.

 

I'm done with California. Joking..Ha! Besides, a majority of them sold in Cali were 2wd.

 

Agree with Shifty. Need pics of frame. Also when was timing belt replaced.

CarGuru's is a very reputable dealer here in Denver. Very few dealers here rarely ever post frame pics. Almost never. No rust here. Due diligence comes into play to personally check the vehicle and all history. Bed issue only would suck but not keep it from failing inspection.

 

Is CarGuru different out there? Over here, it's just a re-listing service, like AutoTrader. TrueCar and Cars.com are similar services.

 

They probably got an estimate, cashed the check and moved on.

 

True, not different, I should have been more specific that a dealer using CarGuru's services would be liable to comply with CO law.

 

That’s a lotta mula. Got one identical here in MA with 40k more miles for $4800. Probably has a rusty frame no doubt.

 

"If" it's a one owner here in CO then rust is doubtful. We don't use salt here in the winter. I traded in my 07 Tundra at 12 years old and zero rust.

 

The prices of these 1st gens have been creeping up. If it drives good and the frame is good, go for it.

 

I’m so confused being a east coaster here and reading the comments… is the market THAT bad in CO that a truck with significant bed damage warrants such discussion? Even if the frame is pristine, being outside of the rust belt, there has to be other suitable options available…maybe the nearby states? Or am I the clueless one here

I mean, used beds aren't terribly hard to come by. It's the frame/frame damage that's worse.

I don't live there so I'm not sure, but we've seen our fair share of CO-only trucks with rusty frames on here. Some of those were rusty because a PO had them over in UT and other places where salt/corrosives are more common, but ...

 

Magnesium Chloride. Not nearly as corrosive as salt. NACL. Night and day difference. No rust. None of my trucks here had anything but minor surface rust on the inside of my chrome bumpers and drive shafts. Minor. People here would literally revolt if the powers that be tried to replace Magnesium Chloride on a permanent basis with a salt brine which is much cheaper. No rust. MagChloride still needs to be washed off regularly since it can be quite harsh on brake pads, ball joints, and wires. That's what you look for on CO used vehicles. Any vehicle not maintained properly can develop issues.Trucks from out of state are sold here of course. Check for rust. Also we don't know if that frame is actually bent.

 

Maybe Toyota should look at AL frames or better corrosion protection. I took my old Suburban from Phoenix when I moved to Boston and the winter salt had very little effect on it.
