I recently ordered some of the aux beam 3" 80W ditch lights for my 2002 tundra, and after installing them, the truck doesn't start. Just get a single click, but no start while the radio and lights all come on. After taking the two connections to the battery off from the plug-and-play relay the car starts fine. I also mounted the relay to the side of the frame inside the hood on a random 10mm bolt. Is there something I am doing wrong? Why won't it start while all is connected?

Sounds like you've either got (A) rot in your battery cables or problems with your terminals or (B) you f'ed up something with your ditch light wiring or (C) your ditch lights or some portion of it have a short.

It's most likely (B) or (C) if pulling the load from that device suddenly allows you to start again.

If (B), I'm gussing you didn't wire your relay up correctly. Does anything feel hot to the touch (relay, ditch light cabling, etc.) when the ditch light wiring is connected?

This was a complete plug-and-play system where I just took off the battery terminals and put the red and black connections under the terminals. But when they are connected, the truck doesn't start. The lights work without the truck being started which is the part that confuses me the most.

Your third pic showing the relay, are you hooked up like the below instructions concerning relay ?

85 and 86 are your relay coil, 30 & 87 are the contacts.

The box came with a harness that was all one piece together, does this mean I have to attach wires to the relay that I bought from a hardware store?

The harness already was connected to a fuse, a switch and two connections, one positive one negative.

The concern we both have is what I eluded to earlier.

Regardless of how it came, if the wires aren't connected to the correct posts, symptoms you describe can happen. Is there any reasonable way you can show us how the relay is wired, if the numbers of each prong aren't marked on the bottom, can you mark up which wires are going to which pin in your pic?

I would suggest unplugging the switch and the ditch lights.
I would then hook up the relay and the fuse according to below drawings.
I would then attempt to start truck, if successful, then hook up lights and switch.
If not successful after lights/switch hookup, let us know.

If possible, get a decent pic of bottom of relay with wires hooked up, placement of fuse holder and it's connections. Any pics showing hook up you deem necessary is appreciated.

Okay, sorry again for the late response, but life is busy. Instead of mounting the negative terminal of the harness to the battery, I mounted it to the side of the frame, and it worked and starts fine. I only wonder if this problem will arise again in the future.
