Anyone ever snap a nose cone shaft? All stock engine and blower magnuson 5k 1.9 tvs rotors spin free no damage at all to any internals of the supercharger looks brand new inside

 

Did it break at the front bearing of the snout shaft or coupler break. It can be repaired and rotors are protected by the coupler, it's the weak link so not to damage rotors.

 

My Koyorad Radiator came in, hopefully the short block will be in soon. I'm running out of room to store all of the new parts lol.

 

The juice will be worth the squeeze!! Awesome news!!!

 

Getting the ProSpeed one?

 

No, I went with Andrew at XAT, seems like Prospeed gets stuff from them too.

 

Andrew at XAT is my dude. I was thinking the forged block that ProSPeed sells when I replied. XAT is right down the road from me. Are you sending him a whole motor to be built or what?

 

He is sending me a built block with some other goodies. I will send my block back as a core once the new one is installed.

 

Ooooh..... We've talked about this a few times and that hasn't come up as an option. I was thinking I'd buy a spare and have him build it then send the truck with the motor off to ProSpeed and then sell my motor when all was said and done. I'll have to see if that's an option when the time comes to save me some time/money.

What size did you go with?

 

The 2.00". I'm at 8k ft. elevation, so this should give me the estimated equivalent of what the base pulley produces at sea level.

So, what's your first impressions with it even though you haven't completed any WOT runs? Noise, boost timing off idle...? I'm excited for the 2.2"!

 

On startup you can tell that the blower is spinning faster, the sound is different. There's a little more whine getting up to 45mph. I did get a few WOTs to check and adjust the Power Enrichment table. I got it bang on with the first try, brought the AFRs down from 11.5-ish to 10.5-ish, proud of the gas I saved.

I was surprised at the difference in acceleration, much quicker getting up to speed on the interstate. I had the passenger side window down part way while next to a concrete retaining wall at about 80% throttle and the exhaust had a bit more snarl. That was unexpected from the Dirty Deeds 10".

I don't think fuel trims changed as I didn't drive that much, but I subtly adjusted the very low end just because. Weirdly, there seemed to be less Knock Feedback as well, but I think I need to bend @snivilous's ear a tad in that regard. I need to determine what I think I understand in order to formulate any questions first.

That's awesome!!! I recall there being a pretty noticeable increase in whine going to the 2.0" too, kind of an unexpected perk.

 

We came home with this today! 2022 GX460. And you know I'm already looking at blowers and tuning, which as expected is extremely limited so might have to throw some Sniv Speed Shop engineering at it

 

Upgraded the 4Runner?

 

Yes sir, it actually got rear ended about two weeks ago. Still waiting to hear back from insurance. We had been looking around at cars semi seriously for awhile though, the 4Runner was at like 298k and just getting long in the tooth. Her getting rear ended made us a bit more serious looking at stuff, and a few coincidentally had popped up for sale locally and this one had all the options and color setup the wife wanted.
