Why not both? I’ll wait a year or two before touching the TTV6. Will trade another vehicle for a nonTundra TTV6……..
…..but the LX570/LC looks like a fun project truck been eyeballing one for a while. Choices choices.

I’m not touching one until the truth comes out on why they keep blowing up. I currently believe it’s a design flaw for the application and not a manufacturing defect.

LOL my answer is clearly the 5.7 with the blower.

Agreed. I would do an LS based rig before the v6tt option

Whatever this forum told me to do
I've been pondering my next truck, if something were to happen to mine

    man, it’s a tough choice

I would probably get a v8 ford with a blower

the f150 seems fun, but the f250 with the Godzilla would be more necessary.

New GX550 overtrail or possibly a Sequoia. Those are the only new Toyotas I'd buy if the engine being prone to grenading was resolved.

New truck would be a 2500 Ram.

Did you regear or are you on stock 4.30?
If regeared, what did you do - 4.88 or 5.29?

Yes. We'll know when the parts change if it was a design issue. The bearing looks like a manufacturing defect. Keep seeing threads here and on Reddit about blown engines.

    I'm optimistic.

Agreed I would look elsewhere, I try to like the new tundra but I think they just lost me with it. It’s clearly made for a demographic that I will never be. Barring no tragedies and my ability to keep multiple vehicles at once I don’t plan to part with my tundra just because I love it, but could easily justify an HD truck purchase to add to the stable. If I were truly sensible I’d probably sell it for a 3/4 ton for hauling and buy a fun car to properly fill both roles instead of a one vehicle fits all roles that I’m currently doing with the tundra.

Ford worked hard to earn their spot on my "Fuuuuuck Noooo" list. Wish Godzilla was an exception; Harrop makes a blower for it.

Having experienced both, is it worth it to regear with the blower in your opinion? I feel like it SHOULD be decently faster but the dragy times we have all compared does not necessarily show that it seems to me anyway.

To me totally not worth it in my opinion with the power we make. Only time pops mentioned it’d be beneficial on his to go to a 5.29 is towing the trailer. But outside of that not worth it. To me the 4.30s take advantage of the tq all these blowers make.

same here, it's a tough choice. lesser of the 3 evils

I could never buy a GM - purely on how they converted the GM Bonds to zero during the bailout.

    I could never buy a Fiat/Dodge/Stellanis.

so, I'll do my best to keep the tundra running.

After towing at elevation I can see the benefit of gears. Being primarily a flatlander and only occasionally towing a few thousand lbs, I'm going to keep with 4:30's as well, it cruises so nicely at 80+ just lugging along at low RPM's.

From what we keep hearing in our tech conferences there is casting slag that is getting sucked up the oil pickup and wiping out the main/rod bearings. We currently have our second one in the shop right now completely locked up. 14k miles. The last one was at 28k. I will gladly take apart a 5.7 twice instead of taking apart this new engine once.
