The piece on the back of the front wheel well gets removed and pinned back.

what a sweet ride! Any comments on the on road feel? My main concern is it feeling and driving as nice as its stock form.

Do you think the factory 3” lift will ever come installed in a future trim? Meaning it will be installed at the factory or port (not dealer installed after truck purchase).

Yes. That’s already been confirmed that it can be ordered like that straight from factory in the future.

With the lift, OEM 20" TRD OR rims, and 285/65R20 Tires that weigh ~ 64 lbs each I get around 13-14 mpg on my hybrid. Was consistently at 14 until it got really hot here then dropped to 13.

My MPG is at 16.2 with the hybrid, TRD lift and 285/65R20 on stock platinum wheels. I drive pretty conservatively though haha

6697FFB0-7159-499F-BCE1-2B603BE36071.jpg Picked her up Saturday. Initial impressions were good. After further testing I feel like the truck deserves better coil overs and shocks. I have an 18 tundra I installed 6112’s at the 2” setting and 5160’s with Coachbuilder shackles. The ride quality on my older truck is significantly better. Can anyone recommend some cost effective options that are compatible with this kit? Would the old 6112 and 5160 combo work on this kit?6697FFB0-7159-499F-BCE1-2B603BE36071.jpg

@Slowbuilt I was wondering the same thing. I have the 6112's on my current 2018 and love them. They seem to be a much larger diameter than what these are for the TRD kit. Almost looks like they are 5100s with a spring. I like all the other features of the kit like the axles and the UCA's but it doesn't seem to be as nice as the other stuff I guess. I'm hoping that Bilstien comes out with the 6112's for this Tundra.

Ugh coming from a 2020 trd tundra sport , I had put on the bilstein 6112 with a small spacer to get a 3 inch lift and used a 1 inch block in rear, added 33 inch tires and it rode pretty smooth and ate the bumps pretty well
Now I bought A 2023 TRD sport and had factory level kit and it hits the bumps way too hard, was looking for atleast a level as the sport front end was lowered to Begin with, is there any other option to achieve the level and get a factory type ride that ain’t so harsh ? Help I’m desperate !! I miss my 6112’s already :(

Thinking about upgrading to 3rd gen tundra. I see online that you can get the TRD lift installed from factory. I'm thinking this is the route I'll go as none of the dealerships around me have done the install before and I'm not very trusting lol. Do you think they will remove the fog lights and send the truck without them? It should be as simple as me purchasing a set and installing myself at home. What do you all think? Looking at a 2024 limited nightshade crewmax 5.5.
    Cheers,

I'm curious on this question as well. If you can't actually "order" a truck from the factory how are they supposed to install the factory lift before it gets to the dealer??

It may be installed at the Port like other accessories are before delivered to the dealer. Just a guess.

For 2024 the TRD 3" lift will be installed on the truck as it is going down the assembly line. So it is a factory installed option. Not a Dealer installed or Port installed.

If its factory installed I would guess they remove the fog lamps given some state laws have a requirement that they be removed.

    TRD 3” lift kit
Just had the TRD lift installed at my local dealer on my 23’ Limited. I originally planned on keeping the stock 20” TRD wheels and throwing some 285/65/20 all terrains on since that’s what Toyota says will fit, according to their literature.
After reading that many were people reporting sway bar rub I decided to bite the bullet and snagged a set of Method 316’s in 18x9 +18mm offset. Wrapped them in Toyo AT3’s in 35x12.5X18 (D load). Will be picking up tomorrow from the dealer! The tech told me everything aligned perfectly and there is “Zero rubbing”. Will update when I pick it up! They also removed my TRD skid plate due to the sway bar drop. I may try to install it under the sway bar or have a shop machine me some spacers for it.

That looks good! I think that the 6.5 bed was needed on the Tundras and when it's lifted like yours it all just makes sense! it has an actual usable bed! I can't stand my 5.5

Does the TRD lift have adjustable rear control arms to fine tune the rear pinion angle?

I’ve got sway bar rubbing with the 285/65/20 on stock wheels. I even have 1” spacers and still rubs. I’ll live with it until I need new tires, then will do something like this. It’s frustrating that following the Toyota recommendations doesn’t work properly. Your truck looks fantastic.

Oem tonneau, side steps, spray in liner. Trd skidplate.

All tundra's have a solid axle in the rear. 3rd gens have a coil spring and 5 link set up to secure/control the solid axle.

I get all that, but doesn't lifting the frame in relation to the rear axle still change the pinion angle like it does on a leaf spring suspension lift?

I ask because I noticed a few aftermarket lift kits for 3rd Gen Tundras include an adjustable rear lower control arm to adjust the pinion angle.

Appreciate it! My plan was to keep the stock wheels as well, but saw so many people having sway bar rub on forums with that size tires. I really didn't wanna spend the extra money on after market wheels since I liked the stock ones. But now that its over with I'm glad I ponied up the cash and am really happy with how it turned out. Driven the truck about 500 miles since getting the TRD lift installed and it drives amazing, just like stock! The tech at Toyota said that these kits are a pain in the ass to install but they ride so much better than the Wescott leveling kit. I have zero rubbing with normal day to day driving with the 35x12.5s", the only time a heard any rub was at full lock while reversing with some articulation into my driveway. Even then it was very very minor and it appeared to be on the front of the fender liner which I haven't even pinned back yet. No sway bar rub at all.

I have all the factory parts available if anyone wants to purchase them. This is a limited package with the TRD off road package. Red front struts/springs, rear shocks, front factory CV shafts, tie rod ends, UCA's, lower ball joint holders.

How are the CV and rack and pinion angles after the lift?

They are a bit steeper, but the new CV shafts that come with the kit are a bit longer and do not appear to be in a bind. The angles on the tie rods aren't bad.
