Unfortunately I only have wheels with agro tires so my experiments are a little skewed. I ended up ordering BFG KO2’s since I will be towing a fair amount with the truck.

I’m torn between this size and 275/70r18 because of tire options. Do the 295’s seem to be noticeably more weight for breaking/acceleration/maintaining highway speeds on hills? My conservative side says go 275’s but the 295’s look so good!

I have a 1” front cornfed spacer lift on the way as well to balance the look.

Unless he lives in a snowy area, where width is not your friend. It's not really your friend offroad, either, unless you're in soft sand or mud.

ETA - I'm in the same boat, but waffling between 33s and 285/75s. I wish there was a skinny 34" option for 18s.

Welp… A 285/75/18 Goodyear duratrac will not fit in spare tire location (35.1” per manufacture specs). Rubbing on the pan hard bar… Gonna cut off the spare tire mount brackets to see if it’ll help.

Just in case you are curious what a 275/70r18 looks like. I went with them because they were $120 cheaper than the 295. Sure, I would of like a little bigger, but I'm really happy with them.

I live on the north east coast of Canada, snow is common. I’ve been looking at 285/70r18 as well but no stock around me, mud terrains or not mountain snowflake rated.

I’m looking at Toyo at3, wildpeak at3w or discoverer at3 XLT.

Biggest winter tire for 18” is 275/70/18 that’s what I have for winter and I run 295/70/18 the rest of the year. Both cooper tires snow claw and AT3 XLT

Found this video were a 295/70/18 fits. Curious what you end up doing for a slightly taller tire.

Cutting off the support brackets helped a little. Released some air but it’s still rubbing the pan hard slightly. I’m not doing hardcore flexing of the rear end (mostly towing and occasional beach trip). I think I’ll be okay with the steel bar rubbing against the tire with the conditions I’m in.

I went with 295/70r18 in a wildpeak at3w. They are snow rated, although not a dedicated winter tire, I think I’ll be fine. Ram ko2’s since 2016 year round on 4Runner/Tacoma and Tundra and the falkens have better winter rating.

You wouldnt happen to have a picture of the tire mounted? I guess 37's are a no go under there.

The 295 doesn't seem to have any effect on acceleration, but braking is where I surely notice the weight. I know the 275 is the smart choice, but the 295 looks really good on the truck.

I ran 285/75/17 on my last f150, it is kind of a Goldilocks size, some are even available in a C rating. It may be worth it to find one of the few 17" options that work on the tundra.

I don’t recommend cutting off the brackets towards to cab.. It’s a little wobbly but I’m not worried about it. Can’t see it in pic but it now clears the pan hard bar by millimeters

Thanks for this. There’s really no fitting anything bigger in there unless you do some sort of relocation. I think the raptors with 37s actually moved the frame.

Picked up a bolt to the sidewall last week and dug through this tread for recommendations and saw a few for 295/65/20 or 35x11.5x20.

I went with Ridge Grappler 295/65/20 on stock rims with no lift/level (might level later) and they do fit, although one piece does need to be pinned back/trimmed...

Whats the stock wheel size for limited hybrid TRD off road? Is it 265/60R20 or the 18 inchers?

in Canada we get 265/70r18. In the states I believe you’re correct.

Thanks for replies people. If I put in 275/65 R20 right after I drive out of the dealership direct to tire shop, what kind of discount can I expect to get for the OEM brand new tires?

Purchased the truck on Jun 10, 2023, modifications will be made!
My neighbor across the street got a 2023 Tundra a month after I got mine and he put bigger tires on the factory 20" TRD Off-road wheels and got a 3" TRD lift installed and the shop gave him a $900 credit for the 4 factory Wildpeak AT3W tires.

He had to pick up the truck in California and drive it home (Phoenix, AZ) and the next weekend he got new ones installed so the tires at most had 500-600 miles on them at that time.

That is awesome. I offered the dealer doing my install of my 23 TRD SPORT to buy my wheels/tires/TPMS/black lugs/block wheel locks. I used to work in the car business so I know they could throw them onto a base model and put a little price adder to the truck and get it all day. But they didnt want to play ball. Truck only has 100 miles on it. So selling them online now.
