I'm a newbie when it comes to putting aftermarket stuff on my tundra. Which Hikari LED's do I need to put in my Spyders? Also, are they just plug and play or do I need an adapter of some sort? Thanks for the help.

I would go HID in the Spyders. Better throw pattern IMO.

I went with the plug and play @ToyTec Lifts HID kit.

My Spyder headlights take H1's so, I assume Hikari makes H1's correct..........

Sorry, didn't notice you had a second gen. I would buy the bulb based off of your requirements, in that case. I can't verify that's what YOU need, but my replacement H11 for the third gen spyders fit with no problems. I've had them for about 5 months now without a single problem. Except that they buzz kind of loudly when the truck is off and I have the lights on. I can't hear it from the drivers seat, but could hear it when I was testing functionality of my LED DRLs that I installed.

Hey, when you say you removed the plastic cap on the end, are you referring to the h11 LEDs themselves or the plastic cap on the SPYDER headlights that weatherproofs the LEDs?

By "plastic cap on the end" we mean there is a screw off cap on the bulb itself that unless removed, will not allow you to insert the bulb into the Spyder headlight. (You can see it in the picture in the link you posted. The round protrusion on the tip of the bulb. Those are the same bulbs I am running in my Spyders.)

I know this is an old post but is the Toytec kit the same as the VLeds conversion kid?

Oh alright. Makes sense now man. I want to get the spyders.

Just to double check, are your spyder headlights like these ones??

Thank you my friend. I am feeling more confident over time about these.

As for installation, is it plug n play or do we need to do some wiring for the white bars on them?

Also, are the white bars essentially DRLs?

No. They only light up when the headlights are on. I’ve had mine since September, and I’m very happy with them.
