Looks like a good buy from the pics. Did you have a maintenance check on it? Did it come with maintenance records?

    Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)!

Listing says “second-gen console” but I think what seller meant was it’s a later first-gen console. Looks like the 2004-onward DC/Sequoia one to me, but with a mismatched top cover (looks good though!).

Nice truck, OP, post pics of anything you have questions about and we’ll try our best to get you squared away. Welcome.

Dont beat on it, dont overload it. Think of it as a cornfed taco with feelings. You've gotta listen to it, pay attention to it. Give it some love.

but remember its 20 years old. If it was grandpa's truck its whole life, then given to some kid thats never had a motorcycle, all the stuff that makes 'em nice enough for grandpa's has been worn out or changed. Are YOU gonna like it? Dunno. I liked mine alot more before i found out what a PITA changing the engine would be without going full 'racecar'. Dont get me wrong, its doable, and i like all the bits of the rest of the truck & have taken the time to make it fit my dog, it's not perfect, but better than most. I'm about to eff all that up when i do my suspension, but i'll burn that bridge when i get to it.

Just heed the warnings about things like "which parts to always replace with OEM", "which forgotten maintenance will kill your truck" and you should be fine.

Make sure the timing belt was done. Living in Nebraska, you really need to be treating your frame with Fluid Film or Woolwax or similar, else it'll rot out just like it did on the last guy.

I gotcha. I plan on taking her to my main mechanic for a check-up, treated if needed, and vaccinated. I appreciate the advice!:)

Looks like the ever-so-trendy No Quarter flag, which I don't think people who typically rock understand its history and meaning.

I guess not since at face value “No Quarter” is considered a war crime under the Hague Act of 1899.

Not critical at all - it looks like a good buy to me, but I don't know enough about checking the non-visible parts so I get help. And you have found the best place on the web for good support. If you haven't figured it out yet, @shifty` really knows his stuff and is VERY helpful.

    ^^^ What he said.

Looks like you did good. They obviously cared for it, so I'm sure they took care of the preventative maintenance.

    Nice ride.

Yeah, but it's so edgy and cool, bro!

I'd be repainting it or swapping it for a matching-color one.

Looks good. Recommend you change oil, brake fluid, power steering fluid. Check coolant level and should be pink. Check ATF level. May want to pull a cam cover and see if you can determine condition of timing belt. Should be changed every 90k miles so you are likely due for that. Also check that upper ball joint - it’s aftermarket but something looks wonky.

I think that’s the best case scenario you coulda found in the region your in without having to fly to the south.. low key jealous and like they said undercoat that like yesterday lmfao

bonus points if there isn’t any body damage or a zillion rock chips like mine had, but even so your blessed with white paint which is one of the easiest ones to blend touch up paint with
